Sponsorship, TRV and Work Visa

Hi!
We have sent the paperwork to CIC in July 2013. I was approved to sponsor my wife and the file has been shipped to Mexico in mid-August 2013.

My wife has applied for a TRV to spend christmas with me in Canada. She will be staying with me for around 6 months.

My question: Can she apply for a work visa while in Canada?

Please advise.

She can apply for a work visa if she find an employer who is willing to offer her a job and that employer is also able to obtain an approved Labour Market Opinion.

Depends.

If it's volunteer work that someone would normally be paid to do - then yes. (Example: volunteering in a business office). If it's voluneer work that people are normally not paid do to (example: helping out at a church bazar) - then no.
