You had waited longest period. You have a good patient not like me. Are you a canadian citizen? They may ask for redo medical before give visa, it could be. It will be better you stay with your wife until child born and pass your time with your wife and with your child who will born. and forget about immigration and sponsor for few months, i hope it will be good for you. Give the time with your wife if you are able.
Wish you good luck.

Maybe it's not for you. Seriously and I don't mean to be harsh but you started the process because at one point you DID think it was worth it.. or did you only think it was worth it if it was really easy and fast.. in other words if it takes any actual work or waiting on your part you aren't up for that?

You have to look to yourself, why did you apply in the first place and do the reasons that you filed the app still apply? If they do then tough it out once done you will never have to go through it again.

If those reasons no longer apply just pack it in withdraw the application and carry on with your life.

Canada is NOT the cure all to all the world's ills nor is it perfect or even a good fit for everyone. But ONLY YOU can decide what is right for you and your family. Just be honest with yourself, if you have family in Canada as you say ask them honestly are they glad they live there, would they rather be somewhere else??

I started the process after I got married and not because I wanted to its something I had to do. I was born and bred in canada, my whole family is there, friends are there. My career and everything involved was there till i said screw it. my wife is more important to me than anything else and left. I have no other country that I can call mine, than Canada. so it wasn't a choice, it was a compulsion. learn the difference. only choice was; I did choose to fall in love with someone from another country, if that can be considered a choice.

so i do not wish to be harsh, but your diatribe is kinda hmm you know.

2 years plus, just think, if my wife didnt get her visa and lived with me while she waited, 2 years just think if I didnt decide to quit all and live with my wife in bangladesh. what emotional turmoil would we have gone through? heck few of my friends marriages didnt last 2 years. 2 years, what if we werent emotionally strong. 2 damn years, where we were unable to plan, chart our life, didnt change jobs which would have caused me to move (coincidentally singapore)just cause I thought it might affect her application.

big words can be used by you as u didnt wait as long, but i lived through pain and uncertainty for 2 years.

and yes I do have another choice, I am fortunate, I can leave canada without giving a damn, but I do.

so i dont wish to be harsh, but pls .. stop lecturing. my post was to raise a debate, is canada really worth the wait?

Re: My story for all those who waited.

I understand what you mean, since we been waiting for sometime as well. Frankly the whole process is full of stress and anxiety which takes a toll on everyone! It's not easy being separated from your love for a long period of time. Those who are able to live with their spouse overseas, and are capable to support themselves and their spouse are very fortunate! I'm totally jealous of them. Nonetheless, it would be harder for them to understand the individuals' thoughts and experiences who have waited for a long time. Those applicants whose application gets processed quickly are very fortunate since the negative effects are alleviated far sooner than those who are still waiting in process. The process is detrimental to ones physiology and psyche. Everyone undergo the process differently, but those who are fortunate are not bombarded with the effects over a long period of time.

I had to tell my wife that I would give up everything in Canada and live with in her country, not just to make her feel better, it the truth and how I feel. The wait was taking a toll on her physically and mentally and I couldn't do anything about except tell her that I love her. At times this didn't work since she was very depress. Seeing someone suffer would make you ask if Canada was worth the wait?

in my opinion keeping a couple apart from each other for 2 yrs is against human rights

As I always articulated CIC has to come up with something consistent and reasonable. The gross difference in processing time between offices is not reasoned by CIC, it's just been hypothesised by some of the group members who perhaps have some personal perspectives and/or stats to back it up, but only CIC can make it official if they actually have someting in favor of any ruling they do. Doing something professional recommends and warrants a reasonable explanation, which CIC failed to provide so far. You can not make people suffer, forget about whether it is against human rights (hard to define how it fits to CIC's mandate), unless you have specific reason(s). People pay CAD $1100 or more not to see you fool around, they pay their hard earned money to see results in the fastest way possible, whether it's in favor or against their will as long as acceptable grounds and updates have been provided.

Dealing with people's emotion, their eagerness to integrate with their better half and family is never easy. However, I believe it can be dealt way more efficiently and professionally than what CIC has been doing so far. More than 2 years or even 1 year of wait time is very hard on most of us and sometime life changing, in the process Canada may lose the respect as a humanitarian country from some which is unfortunate and as a Federal body, CIC should do everything possible to uphold that respect. Unfortunately, they haven't been doing that so far----thats my personal opinion from my experience dealing with them.

I am sorry that some of us had to go through the pain and sufferings, hope sometimes feel like a little less......but still we hope.

Good luck to all!

We are stuck on 79 sigs all of the regional news outlets I spoke with seemed to think it was a pretty non event with not even 100 sigs, to them it kinda showed that SG is doing a good job if that is all we can muster that are displeased with the system out of the number of apps they process each year.
yeah, I suspect that alot of us are afraid to sign our names in case of possible consequences.

I wonder if it would be ok to get family, friends and co-workers to sign this.

20 months for some and 4 for others...lol

p.s. Thanks for sigging that, Bangkok.

Anyone can explain me
When CIC-M receive our application do they make any review of our applicant part? Or outland visa office is full responsible to make review and make full decision? Who make the decision interview may require?
I send an e-mail to Spore to know who make the first review on applican part (part two)
here is the quote
Family Class: Sponsors will be informed according of the review of the sponsorship application by the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga. The application for the sponsored person will be sent according to the responsible visa office.

CPC-M processes your eligibility to sponsor and the regional visa office (e.g., Singapore, Berlin) processes the application of the sponsored person (for you that would be ur wife) for permanent residence.

hey guys,

i have just checked online and received a weird update on CIC online status. this is what it shows:

Sponsored Person Sponsorship Application Status Permanent Residence Application Status
(spouse name) Decision Made Application Received

(spouse name) In Process Application Received

prior to today, there was online one line under sponsored person. today i got an update with the second line but instead of permanent residence application status changing to in process it is sponsorship application. it is so wierd.
