If I hold a valid TRV, and get a passport request for my PR, can I go to Canada and send the passport from there and expect it to be returned to an address in Canada?

I know that if you are already IN Canada it can be done. So I would like to assume its possible. The only thing to remember is coming back here on your TRV you are still only a visitor at that point and you will need to act like one by just bringing in what would be expected during a visit. You may not "move" here yet. The other thing to consider is you will still need a return flight if you are flying, as in all likely hood boarding with only a one way would not be permitted. Another thing that must be considered is that once a PPR is given there is usually a deadline for it to be received about 30days of what I have seen is common. In the PPR there will be instructions on sending the Passport if the applicant is currently in Canada.

Chris.
How do I let them know about the return address, since it will be different from the one in file? Using the PPR form will suffice? I have received received/seen PPR letters, but in non I came across the last line you mentioned.

From one of the sections of my wife's PPR

3. Submitting your passport(s) in Canada (CPC-O) - if applicable

If you and all the accompanying dependents on your application are currently in Canada and plan to be in Canada for at least three months, you may submit your passport(s) to the Case Processing Centre -Ottawa ("CPC-O"). You are required to send your passport(s) together along with a copy of this letter by mail or courier to the following address

The address to send your passport will be in your PPR when you receive it.
CIC will know your in Canada when you fill out the PPR forms.
