Restoration of status from WP to SP

Anyone has done it at the border?

Preparing for WP extension refusal and want to restore my status and apply for Study Permit. But I would like to do it flagpolling and apply at the border.

Of course I'm from visa exempt country.

You can't apply to restore your status at the border. If you go to the border, leave Canada and then re-enter - then you'll be treated as a brand new visitor entering Canada rather than as a restoration.

But I need to do it right away after my WP will be refused, right? Eventually, how many days I may have after refusal?
