Reference Letter from previous company

I am planning on obtaining a reference letter for my previous experience from my manager. The thing is, even my manager no longer works in the same company. Will a reference from him be valid? I am planning on including a copy of his current company business card and his resignation letter. (NOC 2171)

Your letter must be on company letterhead signed with responsibilities, wage, time worked etc. You need proof that you worked there.
