There have been changes and I know it takes longer than it used to. Three to four months I believe. Even a criminal record check for a job takes longer now.

I just had to get a criminal record check for a job and I applied on a friday afternoon and it was ready for pick up on the following monday afternoon. I don't think 1 business day is too long.

Except you probably had only a name check in CPIC , not a fingerprint check.

Depends what kind of check you were having done. A RCMP back ground check for immigration is sent to Ontario, (well that was where mine was sent anyway) not locally.

To the OP..... I shouldn't worry too much about the time line. I sent mine in with the application, just in case they needed it (still not sure if they ever did by the way). So even if it takes 6 months, still well within the application time line anyway, so no real problems.

Yes but I was replying to the issue of background checks for a job and not for immigration purposes.
