But that's in place of the 600 points from before... So all those 380's will now be 420 instead of 980...

Based on some predictions on the forum, there are 10.000 students over 450. So next few draws we really might see an increase of CRS CUT OFF.
Then possible 474 for 48th draw.

Then maybe a 4point rise...
Keep in mind that my calculations are based on the new rules i.e including 30 bonus points for Canadian educational credentials.

I don't think the maximum is a good number to look at since there are multiple levels of education and experience. I think the majority have a bachelor's degree and are currently working on work permits. I would say the average is somewhere between 438 and 444)

I was an international student, I'm currently at 458 and will be at 488 after Saturday's changes. I didn't study at all for the language test (I kick myself about that everyday!). I received a CLB 9 grading for both speaking and writing (I guess I'm better at receiving information than relaying it!). If I don't receive an ITA in the next couple of months I'll redo my language test hoping to reach the 496 mark.

Yes I know.

Here something interesting from kirtivsingh:

For people aspiring express entry good news is that the Govt. pledged 100,000 PR applicants as a low target.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2016-03-08.asp

Currently they have 28409 ITA.
If we multiple that number by 3 (considering multiple application per ITA) which is 85 000.
Still thr will be around 15000 deficit which they will fill in december.
So i believe there will be min 3 more rounds with around 2500-3000 per round

I expect 1-2 draws to clear the 474+ international students
and then scores will drop significantly to ~440-450 (international students with CLB 9). This probably would take another 2-3 draws

Not necessarily as per today an LMIA was worth 600 point and after saturday only 50-200 points (depending on the NOC)

Also we have to consider the processing time. Provincial Nominee will still receive 600 point ( and I think is fair) so this will influence the high ends of the pool, but is also true that PPN are generally slower to process and the average processing time is around 1 year. An Lmia as per previous rules was worth as much as a PNP but was way more quick (some noc with high wage receive LMIA in 10 business day) but its fair to say that normally is not longer than 3-6 months.

We will see no more CRS score of 200-300 jump the line just because they have an Lmia from Mcdonals.

I don't think we should expect a sharp drop in score after a couple of rounds as you are contemplating. There are students like me who have CLB 10 in 3 out of the 4 modules, which will grant 471 points.

Out of curiosity, how did you get to 458? FWP?

Only thing I 'm afraid of is many people clustering around 430-460 so this announcement for a CRS CUT OFF drop would take "a while" like a 6 months while rather than 3...

With that score, I think you can expect an ITA 2 draws from now (Draw #49)

I studied engineering in NS. So I have a diploma in Engineering and a Bachelor's of Engineering (where the Bachelor's degree was 3 years). In addition I have 1 year of Canadian work experience, and the language test scores that I mentioned above. :p
