Question on documentation for surrending Indian passport in India

Hello,

I am recently turned canadian currently in India on a 3 month emergency visa. I wish to surrender my indian passport here. I have both my indian and canadian passport with me, but not the original canadian citizenship certificate. Will I still be allowed to apply to surrender the passport if I cannot provide the original (just the copy)?

You’d have to contact your nearest passport office to see what their requirements are and if they would be okay with a photocopy. It varies from location to location, so no one here can give you a definitive answer. Good luck.
