I sent mine back in Feb. They claim 7-10 business days for tracking to show. I would suggest calling them by the end of the week if you are still unable to track. They can be inefficient so you have to pester.

The documents you upload do require self attestation.

I used Canada Post Xpresspost and sent it to the mail address in Quebec. It was delivered in Ottawa the next day, which is where the mail room was. Got my passport in 20 days ish.

I submitted my application in February 2021. They have changed the fees since then so refer to the BLS website for updated fees.

Hi, you are well within timelines. They ask that you wait 10 business days after delivery to inquire about the status. Just depends on who is working on your case. You can always call them to check if that would make you feel safer. Don’t worry!

I applied via mail through Toronto jurisdiction for surrender + OCI and the only original I was asked to submit was my Indian passport. Not sure if that would be different if you were only applying for OCI. Best to ask BLS.

Hi, you need not upload anything for this section. I am employed and did not upload a letter or explanation and I still received my card, which just listed my occupation. So if you have an area you used to work in, you can list that in your online application but need not give proof . Good luck.

Hi, they don’t update the tracking number unless you ask for it, and even then it depends on the agent you get and if they’re lazy or not. One agent said they didn’t have a tracking number for my OCI, but when I called for my surrender, they said they’d update it on the BLS website. Otherwise...

In this particular case I remembered reading, someone on the forum applied from Canada but wanted the passport mailed to an address in the US, so the office called to verify/confirm if this was the correct address...

Hi, Nope, no communication is sent. In some cases, applicants have been called to verify some information (residential/mailing address, for ex as reported on this forum). But otherwise you have to call/send webform to find out updates and tracking numbers for return of certificate and passport...

I would follow up with BLS both over phone and in-person, if possible. There’s been another incident on this thread of them misplacing someone’s passport as well. If you’ve paid for the return courier of original documents they should send it back to you. Good luck!

Sometimes they send it via regular mail too, but if you don't receive it by Tuesday (Apr 13), I would call again and ask them to re-send the correspondence.

You have to use the first one Government of Canada Passport Program Gatineau, Quebec K1A 0G3 Canada It will show up as delivered to Ottawa. Don’t worry, that’s where the mailroom is.
