Question about landing and times

I was wondering if a person is able to land at any hour, 24/7, or if you have to land during a sort of 'business hour' time period? Obviously there are going to be guards at the border 24/7 to protect canada/america, but specifically can I land and have that paperwork done at any time, too?

Depends on the border crossing. If you're coming via a land border, not all of them have immigration services 24/7.

Well they did away with "immigration" at the land border, and now every crossing is supposed to be an immigration crossing. So, if you go to a 24 hour crossing it should be also 24 hour immigration. That's what they told me when I emailed them about the map changes.


Update: it looks like they haven't rolled this out for every crossing in Ontario, so you should still check the map depending on where you are landing.

Sorry - where's the map?

We are wanting to cross at Rainbow Bridge - or a nearby crossing, I think there is another one 20 minutes away from Rainbow Bridge that would also be fine if it was 24/7, especially.

you can call the CBSA office at the land border you plan to land at, and they will confirm their hours for you.
