Hey All..

Does anybody knows how to obtain an employment offer in Canada (more precisely, in Quebec)?!

After applying in different companies, I had the conclusion that all stop after asking whether the candidate has a WP or not!!

So, what would make the employer go in a long process to hire foreigner?!!

I am really confused about this particular point! ::)

@ Iceberg..as far as i know..its a futile exercise unless you are a Genius..had the same experience...you see the problem with hiring a foriegn worker is that a company has to have a strong justification to hire someone outside canada...to HRSDC...

Best bet is get CSQ..then you can apply even wen your federAL APPLICATION IS BIENG PROCESSED..

Shahi,

So you suggest that it would be easier to get am employment offer after a CSQ?!
Maybe you're right..that would encourage employers to hire candidates withe CSQ..

But on the other hand, what would be the benefit of getting an employment offer at that point?!!

I mean, for us at this point..the employment offer can make huge difference in our immigration process..cause we're still on shore..we have long long journey to go & CSQ is just the first step..

So, how to get an employment offer at this point?!
What are our chances, provided that we have enough experience?!

Hey Iceberg,

i know your concern...but bro..i think in our case...once we get CSQ( the next challenge and the most difficult one is going to be surviving the initial months in quebec when we reach there)..i m sure with the amount of french you know and your qualifications and experience..you will get CSQ shortly and smoothly...that is wen my suggestion comes into place..imagine landing into a country with a confirmed job!!... food for thought!!

Hi Guys ,
I have tried to look in every nook and corner of the quebec site but nowhere its mentioned about the checklist of documents required before submission.
It mentions nowhere that IELTS for English proficiency is required as a part of the application .
Also for French language ,the test results are to be provided 'if available'.
Can anyone please chip in two cents in deciding what are the mandatory, supporting and optional documents required?
Any help in this matter would be highly appreciated .

Thanks a lot,
Piku

I did the interview in Montreal.
This is my timeline:
Applied December 9, 2009
Received my file No. January 13, 2009
June 14, 2010 Recd. notification that interview has been scheduled for July 6, 2010.

The level of my french is just beginner. The interviewer asked me if l wanted my interview in English or French. I said English.
I was asked the following questions; questions to confirm my personal information, why Quebec, why do you think you are a good candidate for Quebec, what do you know about Quebec common value, some key components of Quebec economy, the premier of quebec, the mayor of montreal, where l hope to find a job. In the end she asked me very basic questions in French. The interview was like 95% English.

Wish you all the best of luck.

thanks for sharing your valuable experience.

from where did you apply and in which visa office you applied?

have you submitted any documentation as a proof that you started learning French?

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have already exchanged a few PMs with Shahi. I am currently in Calcutta,India after having spent 9 years in the US getting educated and working.

I am currently enrolled in A1 lvl French to boost my chances of getting the CSQ; estimated date of DELF exam is late October. The French courses at regular pace take 6 months but am planning on doing A2 in 3 months in crash mode. They also have a theater workshop for students learning French at Alliance Francaise du Bengale which I am a part of; hoping to improve my spoken ability (something which I feel might be my Achilles heel)

I will be sending in my application around late August-early September

Wish me luck
