Quebec 2010 Applicants Damasucs Visa office

Hello everyone

i have been following this thread for quiet some time and your patience is remarkable, however mine is starting to get shaky and i feel that my application process is overdue, details:

-skilled worker - Quebec
- Damascus embassy
- lebanese applicant
- last contact Feb,21,2010

months after the interview and acceptance for Quebec i received my bar code and confirmation that the Federal bureau has started processing my application precisely on February 21 2010, since then i haven't heard any word of them and did not receive my medical application to fill it in and send it back, total time to this day 16 months, have i missed out on any detail or does it really look overdue since the total time for federal phase is 19 months?

Have faith, u are at the end of the road....what is ur online status?? still in process?...For the federal part is wrote 18 month i think, i a sure they will contact u soon for the medicals...have a nice summer and keep in touch.Regards,

yes it states "in process" and the total process now in damascus as of april is 19 months, i tried calling the embassy several times these last 2 weeks but can't get anyone to talk to , i sent them an email a month ago and i got no reply either, my focus in the email was to notify them that the mail is being delivered to the wrong address by the local postal office :-[ , luckily the last mail was delivered 1 building away to some good neighbors that knew me, this is why m worried that my medicals were already mailed to me and did not reach the right recipient. In your previous reply you mentioned a delay up to 7 months, does that apply as an addition to the standard 19 months?

Lmastory the embassy in Damascus is closed now, i don't know really were u can contact them...I have been told that now the fedaral process will be from Abu Dhabi...as u are telling me the only solution is the email....but i doubt they answer...
7 monthes delay i was speaking about us the ones who are waiting to be called for interviews, normally we were supposed to have our interviews in 9 month after application, now as the embassy is closed we have to wait more....
But i heard from persons who were transferred to Vienna or Poland for the federal process...i am not sure where exactly....
FOR SURE IS NOT UR CASE, as u are already so close to get ur visa....
Let's hope ur medicals will arrive soon, take care and have faith

I think it will be in Tunis or Rabat
But it's impossible be in Israel
because it is very short mission only for 11 days

I don't know what to think any more....i asked my lawyer and he knows nothing.....of one thing i am sure...is impossible to be in Tel Aviv.As they already cancel ur interview u will receive soon the new invitation and keep us informed...is th only way we will find out where....

thanks for the reply, yes i heard that the Quebec office was closed in damascus but that the entire embassy closing is new to me, any official confirmation on that piece of information ?

i am an egyptian and i have a bachelor degree in chemistry and biochemistry , do u think that i can have the 12 points of the training or not ? because some people told me that these points are only for the single course (either only chemistry or only biochemistry ) so wats r ur opnion , guys ?

Hi fro,

I'll tell u what I know in this regard, well, ur wife will get the following points for her French level:

1- 1st possibility, if they will consider her overall level (B1), she will get 8 points, (4points for Comperhension + 4points for the Expression).

2- 2nd Possibility if they will consider the 4 different modules she will get 10 points as follow:
* 4 points for the B1 modules: (Comprehesion Orale B1 + Comprehesion ecrite B1 + Structures de la langue B1)
* 6 points for the B2 modules: (Expresion orale B2 + Expression ecrite B2)

Usually we take the points based on the 2 modules (comperhension: Oral & Ecrite) + (Production: Orale & Ecrite)

please please can you help me related to her TCF Results, and tell me how many points she deserves, these are the results:

From where did u get these information (mission dates & places)?? Also about Israel, it is a bet not logic for me, since all the Arab countries have great relations with Israel ... as for me, I wish to visit Israel !! But, still it is not practical in our region case!!

Egypt could be logic... but might cause delay, because of the long queue they have there in Cairo, also coz' of the political instability and unsafe situation!!

I went through the Quebec immigration site.. but, they only mention that; for our countries they are calling now the people who submitted their applications before July 2010 and their applications are complete (not missing any documents).

Would u please attach the link for this news, or, is it ur lawyer who told u so??

A maximum of 10,000 new Federal Skilled Worker applications, without an offer of arranged employment, will be considered for processing each year.
Within the 10,000 cap, a maximum of 500 new Federal Skilled Worker applications per National Occupation Classification (NOC) code will be considered for processing each year. Last year the total cap was of 20,000 with a maximum of 1000 from each occupation.

What I know is that; u get the 12 points only if u have a master degree. For bachelors it is only 10 points!!

About ur question, I have no Idea about this specific bachelor!! but it seems logic for me that u have a bachelor in whatever, it is a bachelor and u studied 15 years or more so I believe u will be eligible for those 10 points.
