Hello ,

I recently got my visa but I can only spend a week in canada at this point.

Is it ok if I have an acquaintance in canada FEDEX me the PR card to India when it arrives.

What could be the potential problems if I do that? I read somewhere there could be photograph issues.

I will appreciate qorax or anyone else advising me on that.

thanks.

Yes it is OK to have a friend Fedex the card to you.
Photo issues are rare.

1. I have a theory that the 'photo issue' generally crops-up with ppl who do not remain in Canada. But, it's purely an unsubstantiated personal opinion.
2. Though it's not advocated by CIC, but many do courier the PRCs overseas w/out a prob. Usually it's safe.
3. However, if it's 'lost in transit' - then?
4. It's thus, a better idea that someone gets it to u personally.
5. Nonetheless, u can always obtain a PRTD to reEnter Canada, later.

Dear Qorax,

I made my landing along with my wife on May17th via border crossing. My wife who is the primary applicant has received her PR card and I am yet to receive it.
Do you know any phone numbers I can call to talk to someone and find out if there is any issue?

Thx,
Jang

Jang,

Try to call CIC:

Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100

Automated telephone service (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
If you have a touch-tone telephone, you can listen to prerecorded information about CIC programs, order application kits, and check the status of your application.
Call Centre agents - Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time, except for statutory holidays.
You must choose one of the first five recorded options before you can speak to an agent.
