Hi

Requesting someone to throw some light on a question that I have.

I am the Principal applicant applied under Inland Spousal Sponsorship in Nov 2018. I underwent an open heart surgery in March 2016 and am on Blood Thinner tablets ( Warfarin) daily. I am leading a normal life and also have a Medical Certificate from my Cardiologist ( in India) that the condition of my heart is normal now.

How will this heart surgery impact my Medical Tests ? Will this be a potential problem ? Will IRCC approve Medical reports that would indicate I underwent Open Heart Surgery?

Appreciate all valuable thoughts and thanks in advance.

Each case is different. If there is no undue financial burden to the Canadian Health Care and social services systems and condition not causing a threat to the safety of Canada’s public health, it may be OK. But only an authorized Dr. OR expert advice can give you more accurate info. Here is a guide in pdf :-

If you are being sponsored for PR by your Canadian spouse, then no - this won't be a problem. You cannot be refused for this reason.

I underwent vsd closure at the age of one year. I told it to DMP during medical check up. but i have selected "No" in my pr application statury question about serious disease as i never had a problem and it was just one time procedure and i have never taken any medicine since. Is selecting "No" was the correct choice?

Hi Usman, what is the update on your application? Did you undergo any specific tests during the medical checkup? I had ASD, VSD closure, and PDA ligation when I was 3 months old. Never had any problems or medication so far until recently an ECG report mentioned RBBB (right bundle branch block). I have consulted multiple doctors, even specialists and they have mentioned that RBBB will be visible on my ECG throughout my life as I had these surgeries when I was a child. They have also mentioned this RBBB has no significance on my health in the long run.

I want to understand what possible issues could be there during my medicals and things I should be careful about.

Thanks in anticipation.

You should be upfront with RBBB during your medical and provide more information about your health history and prognosis during your medical. Better to be honest to be found hiding something.

Hey, thanks for the prompt revert. My intention is not to hide something or lie, rather, I want to understand what additional tests would be required, and if this would impact my PR application negatively due to the excessive demands medical inadmissibility clause.

Since you are asking this question in family sponsorship section, I assume that you are being sponsored by your spouse.
In that case, there is no inadmissibility for medical demands. If you are parents being sponsored by your PR/citizen child, it will depend on the medical need in the near future.

Oops... My bad. I am relatively new to this forum so I was unaware of the different sections here. I am a single applicant, 28 years old, applying for PR under Express Entry as FSW-O. What are the possibilities in my case. If I need to ask this question in a different section, it would be really helpful if you could point me to the right section. Many thanks, and my apologies once again.
