PR Card Renewal & New - 2022 Processing Timeline

Hi,

I submitted application for pr card renewal under urgent. Below is the timeline. Even though it says pr card mailed on 18th july but it’s still not received at the mailing address in toronto by my friend. Does it take this long after mailed?

Latest is it says “PR Card mailed on 18th july”. it’s more than 2 weeks now. i’m surprised that they processed it under urgent very quickly but how come just the last mailing part is taking so long? Any clue.

My friend receives mail at that address. It’s burlington address. Online status doesn’t say anything like undeliverable. Did they email u that your address is undeliverable?

Why it was marked undeliverable?Is it bcoz no one could sign the acknowledgement with the mail? Do they get the signature from the recipient when they deliver? Please let me know

Even I was surprised as to why Canada Post marked it as undeliverable, because all other mails were delivered on same address. No one needs to sign, the PR Card is sent via normal Canada Post mail with no tracking number.

I came to know that card was returned when I called IRCC, 3 weeks after card was mailed out. They wont email you. You will need to call them to know the status.

On the PR Application tracker it still shows submitted.
Last week called IRCC, same old reply its still under process and no AOR as of now

But got my renewed PR Card on mail today.

Nothing updated on the tracker, got the Card on July 31st.

So dont worry even if you dont get an AOR or not able to track, the chances are you will get the card in those timelines.

Whenever i call IRCC, i don’t get transferred to agent due to high call volume. What’s the trick to speak to agent?

Most of the time it says we are unfortunate etc etc, keep on trying back to back.
Within 5-6 calls you will get the option to talk to an agent, then leave a call back number, they do call back

You will NOT be stuck home. You can leave Canada without a PR Card. You would, obviously need either the renewed card (couriered to you), or a PRTD to return via a commercial carrier.

Hi, my pr card has not arrived yet and I am in Serbia at the noment. I think I need to apply for prtd? Should I apply as urgent? And if reason is that I have to be back at work at 08.28 what prof do I need to submit? Can you advise?

I could finally speak to IRCC agent. They dispatched pr card to my windsor address on 18th July. On asking why I haven’t received even after 2 weeks of dispatched, they say some receive in 3-4 days, some within 2-3 weeks. If you don’t receive after 6 weeks then call us back again

Just a heads up everyone. I submitted my wife's application and here is the timeline.
PR Card Renewal Application submitted online: May 22, 2023.
Type: Regular - Non urgent
No updates, no email confirmation, not able to link application in gckey until today. No ecas update.
When I tried linking the application today, it showed me the following.

Review of eligibility

• July 27, 2023 Your eligibility has been reviewed. Please see the final decision below.

Review of medical results

• You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.

Review of additional documents

• We do not need additional documents.

Interview

• You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.

Biometrics

• We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.

Background check

• Not applicable.

Final decision

• July 24, 2023 Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details.

The system is purely broken for sure as there were no updates provided on what's going on. But I am glad they approved in 2 months and mailed the card. I hope this helps to all that are in my boat.

Would you mind sharing which date you receive your card?

I have no updates since last two months if my PR card is mailed or not. Immigration agents won't even tell me if PR Card is mailed. Is there any way I could find this out ? PR confirmation portal shows 'closed and accepted'.

Hi There,

Just check with Canada post about that also just in case, they send it via Canada post as normal mail. I think its sent from Sydney Office.
