Yes, you can apply for VISA from India as well...but you have to have a valid WP during that time based on what you will be applying.

Hello everyone i really need a lot of help
I am going home for my wedding which comes on first week of november
I was hoping to get pr before that.But you all know what is going on .
My work permit ends Dec 1. I did renew it figuring i will get pr before,( and i was cheap, need a lot of money for wedding)
I am waiting for my employer to give number( employer compliance)
with current work permit processing time (35 days plus postal ), i will be home when i get new work permit.

Can i get a visa in India with my new work permit?
All i can see is visitor visa. Do you think i will loose my status i get a visitor visa from india?
I am stressed out. please help. please provide appropriate link for this question. I tried checking online and iwill call cic tomorrow.

Not trying to discourage you because all cases are different, just sharing a similar experience. I went home to India while I was studying. I had a study permit and also an open work permit. But my Visa had expired which I thought I would get from New Delhi. And guess what! They rejected it. Imagine I was in the middle of my studies. So I sent a letter to my college and got my mark sheets attendance etc. and applied again. Then within three days they stamped a visa. My advice, have a visa before you leave Canada. Do not rely on a visa office abroad.

Thank you i like to renew it, but i only have 2 month left on my work permit. and i have to be home before 20 next month for wedding. i am worried my passport will not be back before that

I applied within Canada for TRV re- enter Canada visa with Paper application in the beginning of this year. We got our passports with visas back in 8 days. It took 8 working days including mailing days. We could not apply online because it gave us wrong forms for dependants, so we decided to apply as paper applicants. Their online system did not work properly at that time. But we were happy at the end, that they processed very fast. I am not sure about online processing.

Just to let everyone know I just received my COPR.

No PPR for as I'm from a visa free country. I will be trying to get an appt at the Harry Hays building to do my landing cause I really don't wanna drive to the border.

I am from south korea and didnt know people from visa free country doesnt need a PPR!
So for my case, I dont need to send my passport to Ottawa just do landing at the border?
