I have a bachelor of electrical engineering and a master of industrial systems. My title is Data analysis. I have passed AI courses during my master's degree. I do not have an engineering certificate and my job does not require any certificate.

Based on my search, I found out that I can fit into 2171 or 2172.

On the website, in the requirement section for 2171 (from the website says):

2171 – Information systems analysts and consultants:

Employment requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, business administration or a related discipline or completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.
  • Experience as a computer programmer is usually required.
  • Certification or training provided by software vendors may be required by some employers. (I do not have any certificate and my employee does not ask me to provide any certificate, can I choose this noc, if I do not have any certificate from vendors???

On the website, in the requirement section for 2172 (from the website says):

2172 – Database analysts and data administrators

Employment requirements
  • A bachelor's degree, usually in computer science or in mathematics or completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.
  • Computer programming experience is usually required. (My degrees are in electrical engineering and industrial systems engineering. I do not have a degree in mathematics or computer science, but I have passed some courses during my master which were related to Artificial intelligence and deep learning )

Question 1: (noc 2171): I do not have any certificate and my employee does not ask me to provide any certificate, can I choose this noc, if I do not have any certificate from vendors??? will my application get rejected?

Question 2: (2172): My degrees are in electrical engineering and industrial systems engineering. I do not have a degree in mathematics or computer science, but I have passed courses during my master which were related to Artificial intelligence and deep learning Would they reject my application based on this?

Please advise!

You can choose the NOC if your employment letter matches the job duties.

For Express Entry, your education doesn’t need to match your NOC. For some PNPs like SINP, your education must match your NOC.

Thanks, is 2171 regulated? Please note that I am asking about SINP.

I am not sure why here it says it is regulated for Saskatchewan: https://www.jobbank.gc.ca/marketreport/requirements/22510/ca
and then it says : You might need to get a professional licence
