Passport and student visa expiring help!!!!!!

would like to know what my options are as an international student in my final year at university and I need an extenstion of my student visa which will expire soon, as some of my courses are still outstanding before I graduate, because of covid 19 lockdown I cant renew my passport because my embassy is closed, l cant leave canada to renew because my country is on lockdown and airport is closed and his passport, i am very worried, any ideas?

Hi! I'm having almost the same problem as you. I got my embassy to send me a document saying that they were closed and that it was not possible for me to get a renewal. But I sent an email to IRCC a couple of days ago and they answer me saying to submit the application to extent my permit and when I had my missing document (my passport), to submit it. Also you need to write a letter explain that you are being affected by closures because of COVID 19. So, as long as you submit your application to extend your study permit (before it expires), and a letter explaining that your embassy is closed due to covid, but you will submit your new passport as soon as you can renew it, it should be fine! well... hopefully haha thats what I am doing. Hope this helps you!
