Parents sponsorship 2019 - How does CIC contact us?

I did not add myself as the representative for the sponsorship for my parents.

Now here comes the question:
1. Does CIC talk to me? Via email or via paper mail?
2. Does CIC talk to my parents? Via email or via paper mail?

How does CIC send us the application number? Would it be sent to the principal applicant's email?

Also, one more question - to look up the E-case status, would I need the principal applicant's UCI & info, or the sponsor's UCI & info?

Talks to your parents since you didn't put yourself down as representative. Primarily email but both.
