Pakistani Applicants waiting for PPR (Stage 1 or 2 letters) from CHC London

My family and I had our Re medical today i.e. on the 22nd August 2013. Since our application is old, our medical was on paper where as Medicals for recent cases are usually on line. I was informed that it will take about two weeks for our medical to reach LVO.

I have read the posts of several people who searches different traveling options from Pakistan to Canada. First, let me tell you an important thing. Don't consider Qatar Airways as your choice because it goes to Montreal and Montreal is in the province of Quebec. Those applicants, who did not mention Quebec as their destination cannot land on any airport over there without a permission/permit kind of thing from the embassy so better don't waste your time in asking Qatar Airways rates even if its the cheapest.

People from Pakistan have the following options to travel to Canada:

1- PIA (Goes to Toronto directly from Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad)
2- Emirates (Change in Dubai)
3- Turkish Airlines (Change in Istanbul)
4- Etihad Airlines (Change in Abu Dhabi)
5- Gulf Air (Pakistan To Bahrain, Change in Bahrain, then Bahrain To London and from London to Canada, they have an agreement with Air Canada).

6- From 28th October 2013, Saudi Arabian Airlines is also starting a flight to Toronto. It will initiate from Riyadh then goes to Jeddah and then direct to Toronto so one can catch it from Jeddah and i guess as they are starting Toronto for the first time, the fares will remain a bit lower in the initial months.

Usually, people who travels frequently to and from Canada prefers Turkish Airlines because they have excellent service and low rates as compare to Emirates or Etihad. Briefly, from Pakistan, you have 6 choices in total one is direct (i.e. PIA) whereas the other 5 are indirect.

Good effort but dont forget from montreal to toronto or elswhere in CANADA ,only one baggage of 23 kg + 7kg hand carry is allowed .the 2nd bag would be charged additional by Air Canada

can anyone can tell, what is the procedure of getting appointment from IOM for Medical...I am trying to call them from last 5 days but unable to get through to agent. Secondly, I have also emailed them on <mhdislamabad @ iom.int> four days ago but there is no response. Can anyone help me in this.
And in email do we need to ask about available dates or we just tell wahts suits me.

I have sent passport for visa stamping before EID and still waiting for it any idea how many days it will take..

I will travel with my wife and a son over 2 years

I need some advises...........

Types of goods/groceries should carry ?
What about Educational Certificates its should be verified or not. if yes can we attest from Notary Public.

Alhamdulillah, got passport back with visa and COPR. one set of COPR with photograph (CIC copy), other set of COPR without photograph (Applicant Copy), Also immigration officer signature space empty, i think it will be signed at the time of Landing. Am i understand right?

Dear Members

Ensure all certificates, etc are translated in English (if they are in Urdu). Get afew copies attested.

No need to carry groceries, food is available here.

Only things I can suggest are to bring ladies clothes, bed sheets, etc from Pakistan, as the ones here are bad quality, no variety and its very difficult to find 100% cotton here in the bed sheets. Bring curtains too if you can. These things are much much better in Pakistan.......
Bring a large straight tawa, as stove are usually straight here, unlike in Pakistan.......here mostly they're electric.....if you want to bring things such as some desi medicines, etc you can bring those.
For kids, bring urdu books, islamic books etc as they can be expensive here and some things are not available......
Leather goods are very expensive here, if you want bring those from pakistan such as leather jackets, gloves for winter weather.....
