Hi ..

I hav been following many topics in the forums and had been helpful . but recently i am not gettin any updates or i am having tough time in gathering info abt spousal OWP . Some of them geting confused with normal OWP .

so all of u who has applied OWP-Spousal .. kindly share their timelines and reviews

I think it is same for both. Technically for spouse permit we need to apply as a general OWP....if i am right.

I applied for my wife on nov 18 through vfs HYD at DelHI consulate.

I saw in VFS office that WP timelines are 20 working days But in CIC website it is 4 months at Delhi office.

So, not sure which is right,

15th November .. n here in this forum thy are maintaining a spread sheet in which i noticed tht the recent application .. say applications aftr August or septembr is gettin aproved fastr .. to b precise .. application aftr October mid is takin only 20-30 days

For spouse OWP-S. Is there any special application you need to fill. I just filled in a normal work permit application and in the type of application I filled out as OPEN WORK PERMIT. is this fine ?

Here are the list of things which i think are good for OWP-S

your docs (applicant)
-work permit Application IMM1295E
-TRV made outside canada IMM5257B
-chk list
-family info IMM5645E
-original passport
-educational certificates
-employment letter(if she is working in india)
- Her previous job 3 month paystubs (if applicable)
-Marriage Certificate
-financial assessment ( to prove home ties)
-bank statements
-your wedding photographs

sponsor's documents ( in your case ...your wife)
-work permit copy
-employment letter with noc code and salary
-passport copy
-visa copy
- 3 month bank statements
-3 pay stubs
-last years tax assessment
-cover letter( stating that she will cover her for airtickets, housing and food in canada)

I am not sure if these are enough......but good to start with.

Information you are providing is very helpful. I filled the forms and waiting to get Sponser's docs from my wife.

I'm not sure about 'Employment letter with noc code' doc. I can get work permit copy and employment letter and salary structure. But NOC code printing on it is not sure.

I have my medicals done last month. I hope this will be valid for next 9 months. DO i need to submit medicals at the time of application submission or do i need to wait for status called 'Medicals Required' from VFS?

How about Financial assessment docs, Do we need to show liquid cash statements or land and house properties are enough?

Please help me on this.

You could send in medicals upfront. I would submit it as you already did ur medicals.

Employment letter with salary is good enough....but if you could ask your employer to type in the NOC code. It ll be better.....but not mandatory.

financial assessment docs ( usually charted accountants do this ) are not mandatory but it helps to show that u have some assets to come back (home ties) ....it can be cash...or movable or immovable assets.
