Are you asking if the whole department takes the summer off? If so, no.

Like in most countries people offices tend to slow down because people often take a week or two off to enjoy the nice weather or because their children don’t have school or you may not have the option of paying for a camp for example at the end of summer. Canada doesn’t have a super generous vacation system. The country doesn’t shut down for a month like in some countries.
