This is my story, met my Vietnamese wife in January 2013 and we married in January 2014. I sent in her PR application and it was received in Mississauga in June 2, 2014 and now waiting for the AOR and SA letters. From reading this forum I know we're in for a long journey with this whole application process. This forum has been an immense help when preparing my application so hopefully I can return the favour and help other people with questions.

For myself, I'd prefer to order GCMS notes after the 1st month, and then every 2 weeks or month afterwards. The reason is because a lot of people get interview requests around the 2nd or 3rd month after Singapore receives the package, meaning they must be starting to look at your application around the 1st-3rd month, otherwise how could they have enough info about you to order an interview?

7th month might seem a bit long to start ordering the notes, because you might get an interview before that time, and your goal is to avoid the interview at all costs.

You assume all VO do the same thing. My intial assessment was exactly 7 months in.

Edit: I also, like you, ordered notes 3 times before the 7 month period, but there was nothing done to the file. Feel free to keep ordering, but it's not going to come any quicker. I've never seen interview requests for Vietnam in 3 months browsing through this forum. Maybe other countries.

Here is my timeline.
we are 8 years age difference. both never married, no kids.

2011-04 went back to pay-respect for my grandfather in HCMC. meet a nice girl, exchange email and skypename.

2012-02 did a Singapore trip with her , and her mother (VN). my mother (CDN)and uncle (CDN)came along as I paid for their singapore/malaysia tour. she traveled with my family to Hanio and haiphong.

2012-09 I prosposed via skype

2012-11 Wedding vietnam and honeymoon in bangkok and phuket my brother (CDN)and mother , and cousins from china attended (I paid their trip). and many other vn cousins attended.

2012-12 went home to spend christmas/newyear with wife. submit marriage paper to vn. Visit Dalat and many places.

2013-02 went to vn to sign married paper to make marrige legit. and sign their marriage book. she gave me an original for me to submit to CIC. she also did her medical, so that I can bring back to canada.

complex and I'd filed everything as best I could. recipts of my visit to vn, everything.
The Skype output was tricky, but I used skyperious 0.10.6a, and was able to extract the complete logs. printed it all doublesided. 2page per side. it came out pretty thick, as we chatted every night.
in the end, it was a big size box. organized and split up into 6 folders, each with flight stubs, and tours, that we taken, with her name, and mine.

2013/5/2 - Wife received UCI number and same Application No.


2013-12 Went back for Christmas/new years with wife Viist Nha Trang, DaNang and coastal cities.

The status has changed to in progress. feb11, 2014

feb 25th, wife started to receive 3 independant package our proof in the mail. looks like my skype message was missing. and not returned.
along with return of proof was an request to redo medical.

feb27 wife did medical. and submitted thru IOM. Wife also start the Police #2 incase they ask for it.

Mar26 email cic and they confirm receiving 2nd medical on the feb28th.



April 29th 2014, Receive Request for PassPort. via email, with an pdf on what to do next.
and a list of things to submit:

- Original Good Conduct Certificate "Phieu Ly Lich Tu Phap So 2"
- IMM 5669 Schedule A Background / Declaration form,
- Four (4) photos
- Original passport
- Appendix ‘A’

and 60 days to submit the above request.




05-May-2014, Wife took her paperwork to CVAC , but they told to come back on thrusday
as they were not ready to receive passport

08-May-2014, Wife report lineup was extremely long. cost 51USD , told to wait 4-6weeks.

05-June-2014 CIC shows Decision made.
"A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."

19-June-2014 receive call, to pick up Passport.
20-June-2014 Pick up Passport with Visa

23-June-2014 flying out via Eva-Air, however, wife pregnant, they requested, she get a

doctors note, from the hospital. They will rebook her for next day.

24-June-2014 with doctor note. arrived in Toronto. long wait is over.

hey guys, they just sent me a package with all of our chats and pictures and emails and all that junk. but they kept back some pictures and our wedding photos. with no letter attached onto what to do next. i also sent in a gcms notes but i don't think i did it correctly.

Wife's ticket was $846 after tax through China Airlines.
