Open Work Permit and Passport Expiring

I'm a bit worried. My passport and open work permit will be expiring on February 2021. That's barely 2 months to go. The earliest appointment for passport renewal (Philippines Consulate) that I booked is for January 21, 2021 and will for 8 weeks approximately for its arrival. I don't know how will I be able to renew my OWP without my passport.

I can't be out of status for I am being sponsored by my spouse. Any suggestions on what should I do? Thank you.

You need a valid passport to renew your OWP.

You can in fact be out of status and still be successfully sponsored by your spouse.

So it's just ok for me to be out of status? Thank you for answering my query!
OK, in term of allow your PR application to continue.

But you won't be able to get OWP and has to stop working. Not sure about your healthcare coverage but I think most provience do not cover anyone out of status. (Some won't cover spouse anyway until they are in AIP or later, so it doesn't matter)

You do need a valid passport to eventually get your PR though.
