OOPNP French-Speaking Skilled Workers Stream

Here is some information from yesterday session with Ontario - online Webinar

1. Ontario can in total nominate 5500 PNP but for all their programs (including those with LMIA, Canadian experience, international graduates, business class)
2. Their target on French speakers is 5% (around 275 places) they did not state more details if that is purely for french stream or for anybody else who has French and is under different program
3. Quota of applicants for human capital is reached for 2016 (the one with 400+), but the quota for French stream is not reached yet
4. They did not mentioned when will the get the batch for 2017
5. There is no priority service on treatment of any application. They work according to the AOR number.
6. They did not state any timing for application to be approved (only some very vague info about 3 to 6 months)

Thank you for the summary. If they haven't reached their quota for frwnch stream I wonder why they haven't expedited this stream and gave nominations already. I'm thinking anyone that has AOR should be nominated before end of year. Good luck all

I Support your way of thinking Aal_. Maybe they are working on that.

Because that is their major goal - to get 5% of French speakers in the province. Part of this province is also Ottawa, which means government jobs which means French speakers are needed. But not only there. wherever you meet the client, French is a big plus. This province is wanted, so why not choose the bilinguals, if they will get them.

As for nomination. Just because they did state, that they have no preferences who will get it sooner, it does not mean that they dont have some kind of hidden preferences. And plus somebody might have all documents done easily, while somebody else needs further investigation. So again that one some can get nominated sooner than others.

We do not have to look at it as preferential treatment. Being a separate stream from the HCPS, all they have to do is process the two steam in parallel since their quota are separate.
That way, the people in each stream would be processes according to the AoR dates. It could have been that , if that was the case, some applicants from the FWSP would have been processed before the HCPS (because of the small number of them in this stream). But as we can see, it is not the case. We are treated the same. Maybe the completeness and accuracy of our individual applications, without forgetting the difference in efficiency and expediency of the officers treating our cases, would be the determining factors on who gets the nomination first post AoR.

Also, our AOR number follows the same sequence as HCPS. I don't think they have separate treatment for French and Human Capital Stream. We are just in the same queue.

Please update my situation: Application reached OINP on 21/09/2016, AOR received today 12/10/2016. Oh but actually I'm not sure if it is an AOR, because I received a mail from OINP as below, but nothing is updated in my EE profile, no notification.

This letter acknowledges that the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) received your nominee application package on September 21, 2016. Your application was reviewed to confirm that it is complete and has been forwarded for assessment.

By the way, I got another email of Ontario asking for ECA.

In order to verify the results of your ECA report, we require you to authorize WES to share your ECA results with OINP. OINP requires this authorization to complete the assessment of your application. Please note that your application has not been deemed incomplete but failure to comply with this request can result in the denial of your nominee application.
To authorize WES to share the results of your ECA report you must order a duplicate of your ECA report at: https://www.wes.org/ca/apply/xcopycic.asp. You must also ensure that “Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, MCIIT” is indicated as the recipient of the report.

Therefore I must request a duplicate of my ECA. I find it...unfair because once you make an order of duplicate, WES doesn't send it to Ontario but counts it as a Duplicate Package (regardless whether you want to get this duplicate for yourself or not) and ask you add another recipient (Ontario); which will double the fees.

Congrats for having communication first lol. Yes this would qualify as AOR. Do you have the receipt of your DD?

As for ECA duplicate you can claim a refund, it is a bug in their system. this is a link to know what to do and they will refund u 34$

yes, but what i dont understand is how to obtain my Clb score for example the reading part has 50 quetions lets say i managed to get 10 wrong answers and 40 correct answers what would be my clb ONLY FOR THE READING secction? and do i have to rest the wrong answers and then x 2? i does not make sense to me

Don't feel bad. I tried all he combinations and couldn't know how many questions I got right or wrong to get the score.
