It's better you sell here and buy another in calgary.
do you know that people from Canada go to the US to buy cars...cars are more expensive in Canada than the US.

Its better to complete landing formalities in the nominating province and be safe than sorry.
landing in a another province than the nominating one is definately a risk after the bulletin release.

Agree. Have been researching cars and the prices are outrageous. Recommend you bring your old cars. Especially now since the exchange rates are the same, it seems like your paying a ton of lot more money for the same cars.

But the other thing to also consider is if you bring in your old cars from the US, your car might need some modifications to meet Canadian regulations.

Guys is there any one who is waiting from last 4 to 5 month after medical.
I completed my Med on July and I have got nothing so far, no file transfer, not any document request. I emailed cic with my info last week and I got this reply
"We have received the results of your medical exam.
Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete."
Looks like there are few of us in similar situation.

Hello AlbertaGovernor ,

Can you advise on what would be the best option for moving my stuff along with the car to Calgary.
I am asking since you might have experience in doing the same.

I am in PA currently.

Thanks

You atleast got the confirmation that they recieved your medicals. In my case they did not tell that even and replied with the standard reply:
Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete."

Two of my friends completed their landing via Niagra bridge last week and they didn't have any problem. The bulletin you are referring does not say landing has to be done through the same province that nominate you. What is says is that you have to show enough evidence to the officer that you will live at the province that nominates you.

Suggestion is to either fax or scan your medical receipts and send it via email to CIC and let them you have completed your medicals. Also, mention date, location, name of doctor, and date it was sent to Ottawa.

If they do not respond within 3-4 working days, then contact Ottawa. There is a fax number for Ottawa somewhere on this forum
Fedex record shows Ottawa have received medical reports on 10/8/2010. Please can you tell me how long they take to inform CIC Buffallo?

Thank you

My assumption is if all is well, they inform CIC in about a months time.

If you send CIC an email, they do respond in about a weeks time (You might not always get the answer you want). If you're not happy with the response, then think about contacting Ottawa.

I received a letter from CIC on November 23 rd(dated Nov 11th) stating that no other documents were required at this time. Also, got confirmation that they had my medicals on file, and had received my RPRF. My file is still in Buffalo, has not been transferred to any other consulate.

Hi,

Cars cost more in Canada, new as well as used. So you if you a reliable car its better to take it to Canada.

One very small thing as a DRL (Day Running Lights). Not all cars sold in US have DRL, but it is mandatory in Canada for every car to have DRL and it can fail inspections if DRL is missing. When you start the car, the DRL should go on, the officer checks for that.

Thanks,

L.B

L.B,

I think if you have the Auto functionality for your headlights on your car, that should meet the DRL requirement, right?
