Probably they will start sending them in a few weeks...but have to agree it has been quiet for the folks from June-July. I was just wondering what happens if the quota runs out for this year at CIC. Will the applications for this year be rolled over into 2011.I am getting conflicting information on that ,for certain streams like FSW CIC had made them reapply next year in the past ...so just was not sure.
That's precisely why I am getting a little concerned. Unlike the pp requests, our AORs and Medicals came in pretty consistently. As long as we keep seeing some progress, I don't mind the wait.

But I'm sure CIC quota will not finish, at least people who have got file numbers should be safe.

Any suggestion?

Hey Guys,

Here is my situation. Recently my marriage is fixed with US Permanent Resident ( US citizen in March 2011) to be held in Dec. I applied as single and expect for PPR in Jan 2011 or later. I heard that when you are married You need to contact CIC before submitting yr passport abt addition of family member and then they will send out her medical request or PCC request. Is it correct?
Thanks

My take:
There is no published status on the quota usage AFAIK. But typically if the numbers run out, it is in Oct/Nov. Folks who have completed their medicals and kind of close to the end of one year completion will be placed on priority and visa will be issued. Most of us are in June/July timeframe and so will not fall under priority. So in the outside and what looks improbable case, if visa numbers run out, we have to wait for Jan for numbers to become available again. Hey - it is much better than having to wait for eternity for EB3 dates becoming current!!

Well, given the numbers in each year are different, but in our tracking sheet I counted 10 people who received their passport requests from CIC between Oct - Dec 2009

Hi,

After reading a lot about Quota and this and that. Every thing was Up in air not the first handed so I wrote to AINP and here is there reply.

Thank you for interest in the AINP Strategic Recruitment Stream – U.S. Visa Holder Category.

This suspension will not impact existing applications. You indicated that your application was submitted to the Buffalo office - Buffalo will continue to process your application which should be finalized within 12 months of submission to Buffalo.

Visit our website for news, updates for information and program requirements: www.albertacanada.com/ainp. If you have any questions, please contact the Immigrate to Alberta Information Service, toll free in Alberta at 1-877-427-6419 and outside of Alberta at 1-780-427-6419.

Thanks for the link , it is actually apt to bring this up because the way background screening is done various from case to case. Some of them will not require background screening , some are subjected to it and some actually end up in Background screening after submitting the medical reports.

I have seen posts of people stuck in background screening and huge delay in PPR after medicals due to background screening taking place. ( This same thread has a few posts I beleive where they submitted medicals in early 2010 and got PPR after 7/8 months, not the norm but few cases exist ) .

AINP office is mentioning the 12 month timeline for finalizing cases ( This I beleive is a 12 month timeline from the time our application reaches CIC in the first instance ) .

I am unable to post the link but if you go to CIC website and check application processing time untill finalization for Provincial nominees processed outside of Canada and then select Americas region this table shows up
30% 50% 70% 80%
Buffalo 7 8 10 11

The formatting is getting messed up but basically the second row is months and the % above is the number of total cases that were finalized.

So always looks like there will be spillover into next year of atleast 20% cases . If this year 10,000 apply it would mean atleast 2000 cases on a average spill over and this 10,000 do easily apply across all Provinces .In fact due to Canada's policies I would imagine more than 20,000 apply through provincial schemes.

CIC does not unfortunately publish a monthly bulletin for the quota, they will give a press release usually in novemeber on the status or whenever the quota is done.

Did you contact the DMP office and ask them if they have sent it to Ottawa already? if yes, please take the tracking number and keep the fedex/UPS (anyother courier service) delivery confirmation screen shots for your records.

Goood luck my friend.
