Online international work while waiting for Canadian PR

I understand that I cannot legally work while waiting for my PR. I have applied for a temporary work permit, which hopefully will arrive some time in November. Until that time, I have been offered online work through an international company based in the US. I would be paid in the US, not here, in US dollars. Does anyone have any experience working internationally online while waiting to get work here?

You can work in Canada without a work permit as long as the international company you're working for has no Canadian customers/clients. Then you're good to go.
