Submitted oci docs for my whole family today

Hi There, Congratulations!

I'm planning to apply OCI soon for my family and need to confirm few things, if you can help me.

1. Do we need to submit Canadian passport(Original)?
2. About minor signature/thumb - online upload -> assuming minor signature (only signature of minor -Parent signature in scanned copy is not required) is only required if minor is able to sign

No you don't need to submit your Canadian passport but you need to carry it while submitting the application for verification. you will have to submit your original landing paper though. My 3 minor kids signed and I had to upload the thumb impression for the youngest who couldn't sign.

Not yet , I think it will takes another 5-10 days to get OCI in hand, right now it says its in Vancouver

I Was called couple of time to Toronto Office but as per indian Traditional answerd , even not talk proper way.
anyone have idea how take a long to receive a document from Delhi to Toronto.

i am not sure but i think they check your indian passport and verify that you were indian or belong to indian origin.
I submitted application for my son on in October 1st week and submitted my wife's original indian passport and her landing document as well as my son's canadian passport and now they are in process of stickering the passport. I saw the status online. I think documents go to india for verification.

Quick question, I have a friend in USA, who got USA citizenship .. he got an OCI for his American passport soemtime back ..
His whole family is now in Canada applying for Canadian citizenship ..
Assuming he gets his citizenship in Canada and passport, can he get another OCI for this Canadian passport, or transfer the one from the American one to Canadian passport ..? How does it work ..?
They are giving up their American citizenship after acquiring Canadian one ..

Lets discuss after citizenship process. Some have dual nationality and happily keep both passport and for them process ends there.
Lot of other new canadian citizen with India nationality have to spend further time and money in surrender certificate and OCI

Anyone with OCI please share experience and process flow step by step. I suppose we have to give all our canadian original documents of proof of landing and citizenship for verification. For OCI they call you multiple time to office. Is a face to face interview also required.

I got OCI back in 2008, one of the most simpler process - took around 3 weeks and no interview. I had already surrendered my Indian passport 3years prior to that

I am socked what the hell are going , how its possible , even 15 days to take a mail receive form Delhi, Must be Mail come all the way by walk, either Mail department must be sleep for a while, This is a India, I can't believe my India, some time I think God came down and run the India , he must be confused and run back to his world.
