Tomorrow! Here's today's question- We don't have a car. We were going to use my sister in law's car to drive to the border tomorrow but her car broke down today so that seems to be out. The paperwork I received states that if I am already in Canada I can also use the Van Intl airport as a Port of Entry, and that I will need to leave Canada and re-enter. So does that mean I'd pass through the port of entry, essentially "leaving" Canada even though I'm physically there, and then coming back through Customs? Or do I have to actually fly out of YVR?
I think if you use Airport, you might have to fly out...but take a Sky-train with your documents to the Airport, they might be able to guide u if u really do need to fly or they can just take you to the custom officer...as for the border...would be the easiest...go across, come back with a U-turn :)

very soon!!
Hi everyone!!

I have great news to share, Thursday, my husband got his PPR!!!!! :D :D :D I have updated my profile info with all the dates. In total since we applied last November, it took 178 days! We are soooooooo happy, there are no words to describe our joy. We have an unbelievable story, it's not just 178 days waiting, we've found each other after decades and we will soon be reunited forever!! Thanks to all who have helped with encouragements and answers to our questions, this forum is fabulous!! Good Luck to those who are still waiting, we have to be patient but when you'll get the PPR, you'll forget all about the wait! :) Thanks to the VO who has dealt with our file, he or she has no idea how grateful we are and how happy we are!!! We have wings! :D
We all have to go through that process and the only advice I can give you: be patient and remain positive! Positive attitude attracts positive results! God bless you all and best of luck!!

Congrats to everyone who received their visa so far.....I love how things are moving fast for us November applicants......I sent off the request for my husbands FBI clearance and I also requested a Canadian one too because he has spent more than six months in Canada in the past.....I hope I get this back soon because cpp Ottawa only gave us 60 days to send it in

That is great news Bibiche!

I have been following this thread, and havent really found many apllicants from the Paris VO. So, as I also applied in November, I am getting optimistic (and anxious!! :D ).

Btw, how can I have my case added to the Spreadsheet?

VO Paris
Type: Common Law
20/11/2012 - Application Filed
18/02/2013 - Sponsorship approved
14/03/2013 - Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR)

Thanks and good luck to all!

We submitted our application, my husband as the principal applicant, on November 2, 2012. MPNP's first assessment came in January & we were asked to submit additional documents to establish the relationship of my husband and our sponsor. It was also specified what particular document to submit. By February 2, we're done with our reapplication(online).

On May 18, came another assessment and these are the deficiencies as stated: IELTS, our sponsor failed to provide the Settlement Plan Part 2, the sponsor's permanent residency status or the like. To sum it all, we missed three requirements. Yes, we failed to submit IELTS but the other 2 mentioned were submitted by our sponsor.

My questions: Which is more favored--online or paper-based app?
Why don't the officers state all the missed/required docs right on their 1st assessment?

Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

Much thanks,
Geevee

Nanediniz: Thanks for your kind words, I really hope your turn will come soon! When things start moving, they move quickly...fingers crossed for you! ;)

Libellula: That's great news......things are moving: decision made: I wish you all the best for the rest of the process and hopefully a quick one for you!

Kevs: Great to see another applicant going through Paris. I did searched for Paris info as well at the beginning and noticed that there were not too many of us! :) Hopefully, you'll hear great news soon!! We were only a few days apart with the application. To update the spreadsheet, you can ask Ms. Malawi, she is awesome to take care of that spreadsheet.

Hope to hear more good news from Nov. applicants this week!! :D

Hello everyone! As of Saturday May 18th, 2013 I am officially a Permanent Resident of Canada ;D
The whole process took a little over an hour, we crossed at the Sumas crossing in Abbotsford, BC. Pretty painless procedure and the woman that helped us was lovely.

Next up is applying for MSP, my SIN # and getting my drivers license!

It's a mixture of relief, happiness, nervousness and excitement. In hindsight it only took 6 months and it could have been much worse..I'm happy but I feel sad for those that are still waiting, I know how badly they want to be reunited with their husbands/wives, and how hard it is to be apart for so long.
