Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum and need some help. I would like to apply for a skilled worker visa under NOC 4152 (Social Worker) but I am not sure if I would qualify for this category since I don't have a degree in social work.

I have a master's degree in Pedagogy (Education) and have worked with children and families for over 3 years now in England. I was doing some of the duties described on the job duties list of a social worker decribed under the NOC 4152 category.

Will I be able to apply under this category?

As I know you can apply if you meet other requirements such as IELTS and points as well.

You have to meet some duties as experienced among various duties of social worker NOC

And once rather better to go through process and requirements

Wish you all the best

You don't necessarily need to have a degree in social worl to qualify. You however need to have performed the duties listed and and obtain the min 67 points needed. We have a thread exclusively for social workers:

You will need a reference letter from your employer, detailing the duties you have performed (should match what is listed under social work)....Mandie

Thank you Mandie. That helps a lot...

I have another question: I am also a certified massage therapist and had my own practise in the US for over one year. Is it possible for me to apply under the NOC category 3142 (Physiotherapists)? I also worked in a physical therapy in Austria for a while...

The bottomline is: be able to provide experience letter that you have worked under so and so NOC for at least 1 year within the last 10 years. So yes, you can apply under 3142 if you can prove that u have perfomed the duties listed for physiotherapists. If you don't mind, post your questions on the social work thread I gave you..Mandie
