New Work Permit while under closed work permit

Hi Folks,

I'm currently on an ICT closed work permit and my wife got an open work permit at the same time (we applied together). If another company sponsors me for a work permit and in case that application is refused:

1. Is my existing work permit still valid and can I continue to work for my current employer
2. Is my wife's open work permit status also lost

Both work permits remain valid.
