Guys,

I just called the call center and they informed me that as per the news they have the New Delhi office is completely closed officially starting early last week. Also informed the strike is conducted by Canadian representatives> New Delhi office has both Canadian and other nations working there and not sure if the other people are working.

My wife pp is with them since almost 5 months now. They can take the processing time as long as they want but its not fair to keep the passport also not fair not informing that the received the passport.

Also applied for GCMS notes on July 12th, do anyone know how long will it take to get my notes ?

Thats very bad news... Most of us are in similar situation as of yours. I am one among them.
Generally, it shouldn't take more than 1 month. For me I applied twice and both the times I got report in exact 1 month. So probably you should get your GCMS report today. If not then may be tomorrow you will get report. If not, then send them a mail regarding your request. Also check your spam mails too. Some times it may go to your spam box.

if the office was completely shut off, why would my wife get a call from ndvo last week? doesnt seem logical to me at all, also regarding the passport what do u want them to do? return the passport back to u without visa? and then when the time comes to actually get the visa, request back for it?

We received email from ndvo to submit passport and landing fee on June 27. We immediately paid our landing fee and emailed payment slip to Mississauga. We mailed passport and copy of payment slip to ndvo on July 8. On july 15 we received another email as a reminder to submit passport and pay the landing fee. We replied their email with tracking details of courier to confirm that pp has been delivered to ndvo. We emailed our MP in Toronto to help us to know the status of our application. It was a fruitful exercise. The email of MP confirmed that ndvo has received our pp and landing fee.

We were worried as our medical expiry date was coming closer. Thank God, the wait game is over. Received pp and copr on last Saturday by speed post . We both live together out of Canada and at present we are in India.

I would request all of you to please leave a polite msg on PAFSO's FB page ( PAFSO-APASE) requesting to end the strike. Maybe they will understand how it is affecting all of us.

I would request you all to not to use harsh words. Let's do this Indian way, the polite way. Please.

I am also following their posts on tweeter, will keep you all updated.

they can resume their work and whatever the PSLRB orders will be effective from the date they resume strike .

NO NEEDD TO WAIT FOR 22 AUG. lots of families are splitted.

visa officers are also not paid for strike.

I don't think it affects them and they would care about it, because according to canadian law, if they are on strike they are still getting paid ( at least the minimum wage) I suppose, because they are part of union.

I think the only way is to make them understand how masses are affected by their selfish decision.

please leave them a polite message on Facebook to end the strike.

Last year 12 august 2012 was my best day of the life......this year nothing special happend
I just hope my husband will get his passport back this month......
This strike is making so many so many problems in my life.....

It is easy to say 'Don't use harsh words'. You are newbee. So, you have patience now. When your patience crosses the limit, u will get to know yourself. Neither harsh nor soft word affects them. They are Yamaraj. They don't quit the strike without fulfilling their demand. The only hope is Aug 22

Some people are spreading rumour. Everything is going on in slow pace. The only problem is they are not finalizing cases, i.e. DM. They are issuing Visa/ DM ONLY to those applicants whose medical report is expiring. They issued 2 Visas 14days ago to my friends. Their medicals were expiring soon

Yes they are, union budget pays them a certain $ amount during strike. Thats why we pay union dues ( I am union too, so I know this fact )

I am waiting for my husband to be here for 4 months now as well. I have been in Canada for 5 years, I know for sure that the harshness won't work. Canadian government at least listens to the appeals of a common man. And patience has nothing to do with being polite or rude, I understand your frustration and we are equally frustrated by the process. If thousands of people show the concern, they might consider resolving the issue on 22nd.

Hope to end the strike on 22nd might increase if we all stick together and voice our opinions.

congratulations, Tapas....I am at a loss trying to figure out why NDVO has not asked my passport yet....File was transferred on June 19...any other May applicants waiting for passport request from NDVO?
