Now a days you can get new passport within 7-10 days, just fill the online application form and pay passport fees (online/direct deposit) and after that you need to take appointment also you need to carry your marriage certificate and your husband's address proof along with you to passport seva kendra.

You shud have changed your passport straight after marriage anyway let it be now if u want to apply for new passport give it now as in tatkal it takes 15 days and normally it takes 40 days so by the time u will take ur PPR u have ur latest passport with you as in PPR they will ask for all your passports... Hope it helps... Other senior members can also help by advising see what you can do...

Seeking help from experts...

I am about to apply soon and my sponsor lives in canada. Am an indian citizen but have been a resident of singapore for 10 years. The processing time for ND is 10 months while for singapore its 26 months. I have the option of choosing ND visa office as i am an indian citizen. However, me being a resident in singapore will cause any delay? And i am worried if CIC will forward my application to the singapore visa office eventhough i choose ND? Kindly help me with this query.. Thanks in advance.

Representatives are most lazy ones so once you get PPR n if its representative's email on application thn they take atleast 7-15 days to forward that mail to you... Most lazy ones they are...

One of my family member has applied for fresh passport in normal and she got her passport within 10 days of appointment/approval in May,2013 only. In case of renew it takes even less time as we do not need to take appointment and just need to apply online and can go straight away to passport seva kendra.

What if they demand your passport and keep it for months? Can you travel from singapure when embassy in delhi asked for your presence?? you have right to choose delhi but without your presence in india, it is bit complicated becoz of hold of your passport for long time in embassy..

Thanks for your reply. If i move back to india and live there, is it ok to choose delhi office? i can put the current country residence as india but my singapore PR is still valid for another year.. so in the application form, can i put that previous countries of residence as singapore and say that i moved back to india?

Hi Janmuk....according to me you can apply through NDVO and make sure to attach PCC from Singapore. But after getting Passport request u have to come back to india for 4-6 month till decision. Try to get one more PCC from Singapore when u get Passport request and submit same with passport.

Cheers

I was in same situation....i was born in dubai and lived there all my life. But i did not apply from there as it takes 28 months.
I was also confused, so wht i did was, i cancelled my dubai residency visa before applying and took PCC and now currently i am in india.
-You can choose NDVO as you hold indian passport
-check with some lawyer probably, if you need to cancel ur residency visa, as NDVO ask for ppt quiet early. I dint wanted to take risk, so i had cancelled it.
