Hi guys...I am almost in the final stages of completing the spousal application, I have come across a few questions which i do have doubt in answering, I would request your assistance in answering those..

1. IMM5490(to be filled by spouse) Date of introduction to you by the sponsor?? .....My marriage was an arranged one. Our parents introduced us in May 2012 and since then we have been talking over the phone. I first saw her in December 2012 that is 10 days prior to the marriage..So i am confused as to which date to put.

2. Regarding making the payment online....I am only sponsoring my wife..Other than the below specified amounts am I supposed to pay another fees online?

Sponsorship application (per application) $ 75
Principal applicant $475
Right of Permanent Residence Fee $490

Put the date you were first introduced to her, be honest about it being an arranged marriage and write a timeline as to how the relationship played out. Include any skype records or IM's/Facebook of your chats before you met. This still counts as it is considered the courtship phase.

The fees you have included here is all that you have to pay, and if you pay them all at once it will shorten your application period. If you choose to pay the last payment "right of permanent residence fee" this could delay your application by a month or two so I suggest paying it all together. I paid for everything online, printed the receipt and included it in the application.

Hello GulzarND and everyone,,

I just got an AOR on saturday 16th Mar. They have sent me the file number as well. The application reached there on 6th March according to tracking and in the e-mail they mentioned that they recieved it on the same day 6th Mar.
But they have made a spelling mistake in the E-mail in my wife's name. I think it should not matter as, they have all the correct documentation. Probably its just a typo and they will not look at the same E-mail again.
Please advice if I need to do something in this regards??

I called CIC this morning and provided them with my receipt number, Canadapost number and they asked me to call them after 2-3 weeks.....like i have another 500 yrs of living....lol

I received it by email, and it was PDF attachment. It said I met the requirements of a sponsor and that the file has now been transferred to the New Delhi VO.

In the form IMM0008-where National identity document is asked i wrote Aadhaar card and left the expiry date blank as it doesn't has one.

Do you think they can reject my application because of this?

I have a doubt here. for 30 days of processing time for Step 1. is the 30 days from the time they receive or from the time they send out AOR?
