I would never ever suggest hiring any INDIAN lawyers for immigration purposes. Actually I call them liars not lawyers.
There are few who are really good, but them - I dont trust them at all. I have read so many bad reviews about them
I would strongly suggest you to PLEASE GO THROUGH YOUR FILE BEFORE THEY SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

I have seen many lawyers who screws up the application. Whatever information you provide to CIC, that cannot be undone.
Better be careful before you do anything

Looks like the spreadsheet has not been updated in a while. My husband also got his AOR and PPR on April 27th, but not reflected yet on spreadsheet.

Ever since I have joined I keep a tab on this forum every now and then. It feels good to know that I am not alone in the waiting game.

As I have got a travel history....will it take long for PPR? I was in UK for 7 years.....been to Canada and china once
The Process in a Nutshell:

Stage-1: [CIO stage] Send Initial Apps+Processing Fees to CIO-NS > Qualitative Check > Issue of AOR+120 days Letter >

Stage-2: [CHC stage onwards] Send Full Docs+RPRF to the Local Visa Office > File on Queue > e-Cas: "Received by Visa Office" > Eligibility Check+PSDEC > Issue of 2nd AOR > Background Check > Issue of Additional docs Request [if any] > 1st BF'D > e-Cas: "In Process" > Send Addnl. Docs > Issue of Med Request > 2nd BF'D >

Stage-3: Meds Sent > e-Cas: "Medical Results Recd." > Issue of PPR* > Send Passport/s > Security Check > Visa/s Stamped > e-Cas: "Decision Made" >
*The Meds & PPR are sometimes 'clubbed' together.

Stage-4: Return of 'Stamped' Passport/s+COPR > Landing at the POE > e-Cas: "Completed".

As I have got a travel history....will it take long for PPR? I was in UK for 7 years.....been to Canada and china once
If you have traveled then you should get your PPR sooner than the one's who don't have any travel history on their passport.

Coz for the one's who have travel history the security check takes months (2-3 months to get the passports back with the visa stamp) but for the one's who don't have it they get their PPR's at the last stage when they have already made their decision that means once you submit your passport you get it back within couple of weeks.

Hope this helps. If you still have questions about it then just ask.

Good luck with your application !!!

I had a quick question and hope someone can help me with it.

I am the principal applicant. When I went through this forum I noticed that some principal applicants had their status updated as "In process" at some point of time of their procedure.

Mine had never said "In process".

This is what my E-cas say: Permanent Residence Application Status
Application Received

We received XYZs application for permanent residence on January 7, 2013.

Medical results have been received.

Is this normal? Should it say "In process" instead of application received or does that mean that they have sent the PPR but have not started working on it or what? Would appreciate if someone can shed some light on my situation. Given below is my timeline.

I don't necessarily think that is the case about the no travel history. I got the SA on March 19th and my husband, who has no travel history had his PPR on April 27th, there is no way I can see him getting his PR in a few weeks. I think the whole process would at least take 4-6 months. It's only been 2 months for us since we sent the application.

When it shows in Process it means they will have started looking at the file and well.... processing it. ANd sometimes this doesn't happen for months after the PPR. When you do see it, it is a good sign. The NDVO asks for the passport way before most other VO's, and it is their process to have the passport on file. It does not mean they have started to process the file. But it is a good sign when you see it, though it could take anywhere from weeks to months for this to happen.
Hope this helps. :)

Firstly one can never gauge how CIC operates. Secondly it differs from case to case. Its good to know that your husband got the PPR sooner. Good luck with your application and hope you get your PRV soon.
