New Delhi - 2012 applicants

Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year 2013 to all...
After a long wait, finally decided to post...
i have few doubts about the processing times and others, will be thankful if any of you have any info...

my application was filed on 29th march 2012,
application was approved and forwarded to NewDelhi office on 29th june 2012,
got my passport request on 13th july 2012, sent the app package on 18th july 2012.

thats it..... it has been a long wait since then,
have sent an enquiry once, obvious no reply.

now ... i know that the processing time as shown in canada imm link recently is 10 months,
1. is it the time from the date the application is filed?

2. i changed my surname after marriage, got my new passport with new surname and spouse name added,
have sent both passports (old surname - cancelled + new one), could this be the reason for delay?

3. my application is still within the processing times (until jan 29th 2013), we are planning a visit to the
NewDelhi visa office soon, do we need any appointments as such, any of you had any experiences as
-such, please shed some light on this.

-- mumble: They do not entertain any personal queries. Its better if you go for MP inquiry or order GCMS notes, it will give you clear idea of whats happening with your application. You can read about both forms of inquiries in the previous pages of this thread.
Is your case simple? by simple I mean: minimum travel history outside India, first marriage, enough evidence of the ceremony with family/friends attending? I f the case is simple, you should get the visa soon. Else they call for an interview to clear queries.

4. finally -- for all those who got visa, do they return the original documents submitted as a proof along
with the application and passport? i have submitted my original SSLC/10th std cert. and voters-id.
-- mumble: I do not think we have submitted any original documents to them., Not sure if there is any need. (guys correct me if I am wrong)

not sure if i'm hopeful still ....

1. Time of 10 months is after your app is transferred to NDVO.

2. Just sending passposrt should not delay unless you just sent it few weeks before this post.

3. Even if your app is within 10 months your sponsor can still contact his/her area MP if MP agrees to send an enquiry to NDVO. An MP gets answer quicker, like in a week's time. You should also order GCMS notes. There are many places in this forum where the process to order gcms is described. It will take about 25-45 days to get the notes, but you will know more precisely what happned to your file since you sent it to mississaguga.
I am not sure if NDVO will entertain your personal visit.

4. I don't believe they will return original documents along with Visa.
Can others please confirm this if anyone received originals back?

case must be simple i suppose, if change of surname is not an issue...
this is my first marriage, travel history outside india is - malaysia - post marriage, thats all.
original documents SSLC / others was requisite if birth certificate was obtained recently, which was my case,
birth cert was not applied at that time, it was obtained 2months before marriage.
what about the photos and other proofs sent, wont they be returned ?

guess you missed the first question on application processing time, wait time--
is that from the date of application filed ?
My online application status still shows “Application Received on March 29th 2012” and “Medical Results have been received”.

been waiting in indiafor a month with the hope of getting the visa and taking her with me.
with the current trend ,any guesses when we can see some action???
