Hello!

just a question, when is the time when u send the prepaid waybill? after you receive the notification to get ur police cert?

Im from MExico City.

Thanks!
you can send it before they send u the AOR but about a month after u got sponsorship approval.
so that they have the waybill in hand before sending out the pgr letter, otherwise ull probabaly get 2 letters, plus when you send the prepaid waybill it is usually exactly 10 days from them receiving it until they mail it back out to you.
I would send it before you get the AOR/pgr notification.

We are waiting for the PPR, they should be close to finalizing the ARC and sending out ppr.
but its been pretty quiet over here,

I was suppose to receive our notes on wed and still haven't got them, I sent a case specific enquiry 2 weeks ago and still no answer, and I got my MP to contact cic again, although he said they don't like them to contact a second time before 60 days has past so he will try to get an update, hopefully he can, cuz its been all silent on our end.

I don't know how you handle it. My end is still quiet as well. I am wondering if they are still waiting for the police clearances. It's been 2 months since we handed them in. I haven't thought about asking my lawyer to contact his IO since I have not gone over my processing time but I'm starting to think that maybe I should so I know what's going on. The closer it gets the more impatient I get and I want to know what the outcome is going to be. It is so frustrating!

I don't even know either, we talk everyday all day, but its still so hard. my favorite part of the day is going to sleep cuz than I know that's one day done and closer to ppr!

Hopefully u hear something soon, the last friend I had that got ppr, she got it about 6.5 weeks after sending in the police checks, but that seemed a bit earlier than usual, ive seen a lot of people get it around 2-4months after sending in the checks, so hopefully its soon!!.

yeah, im not sure what the lawyer does when they contact cic, but I know when the MP does it, they just contact cic Ottawa and get the last update that was entered into the system. They don't have any contact with the embassy in Mexico. so I guess its nice to get the latest update, but at the same time, doesn't really do much to be honest.

they didn'y notify us and say they received the police reports...basically after a few months that we sent them we were notified to pay (because i made an error on the amount I prepaid) and then the PPR...I dont think you need to worry!

Well his IO hasn't even stated that he/she got his PGR and SSP when we dropped them off to the Embassy. Do they not update you until they have the results and what is the point of ECAS?? My husband's last update stated "We have started processing you application January 14th 2013. That's all folks. lol

After sending the PGR the only reason we knew it had been received by the embassy was because we were able to check the status of the DHL shipment.

In our experience ECAS was not reliable for determining the status of our application. For example our file finally changed to in process four days after they request my husbands passport.

Hey all! I have some questions about landing....

1. Does my husband need a record of his vaccinations? This may be a problem because his town didn't keep his records...
2. Most things we are bringing back to Canada were purchased by me in Canada (including our wedding rings, computers etc). Therefore, in my eyes, they aren't really being "imported". Do I need to still write these on the B4 form? Do you think I need receipts showing all of these purchases (hope not?!). Frankly the whole B4 form seems very daunting...

Anyone have any other advice/recommendations about the landing process they'd like to share?

after it goes to in process, it wont change again, until you get the visa and they put decision made on it. lol
its fairly useless

1) no he doesn't need anything like that,
2) you should write on the b4 form anything u are brining into Canada, whether it was bought there or not, but u can be general like
"clothing" "person hygiene items" "shoes" "laptop" (its a good idea to write down the serial number of any electronics) but honestly a lot of the time they don't even ask to see the b4 form, its just better to be safe than sorry. and no u don't need any receipts.

I love how they responded about an error in the amount you paid but they won't give you an update about the
things that do matter......like the application itself! Classic!

if you're on a student visa in Canada (Vancouver, in my case), does anyone know whether you should submit the Constancia de Antecedentes Registrales (PGR, for people residing in Mexico) or the Informe de datos registrales (for people outside of Mexico)? I'm doing my process in Canada (Vergeville, Alberta office) but it's confusing the hell out of me since all the information regarding the Constancia de Antecedentes Registrales talks about cases being processed by the Canadian Embassy in Mexico... but then again i'm still a Mexican citizen so for all purposes i could either go down to Mexico myself or ask a relative to do so....

... help? :)

Hello everyone, me and my husband just started the process. My husband is Canadian, I'm Guatemalan. Strangely enough, my husband's cousin also went through the sponsorship process with her (also Guatemalan) partner. She is advising us to get get FBI and RCMP checks before CIC asks for them, to speed up the process. She says they will ask for them because I lived in the U.S. as minor and in Canada as student. Is this good advice, or should I just wait for them to be requested?
