Reply to the e-mail and ask them if you can still send a pre-paid courier label (or pick up the PGR letter if you are in Mexico City). Hopefully they didn't mail it out Thursday or Friday. That will speed it up vs. Correos de México standard mail.

They may have changed the process again - they used to always mail them via Correos de Mexico, then they started giving people a choice to mail in a courier pre-paid label - but it may be worth rereading the letter to see if there's instructions for a pre-paid label in the e-mail.
I sent it!! I hope they receive it tomorrow. And if I'm lucky I will start the pgr thing on Monday!!!. Thanx a lot for the advice canadiana!

Timeline so far:

FBI: 3-14-13
Meds: 7-2-13
Applied: 10-15-13
File Transfer: 11-18-13
Request for DoJ California Criminal Record: 12/13/13
Recieved: 2/2/14

Today i got appointment for interview. to be the 26th of this month. I am worried its process little too fast, not to mention it caught me off guard, expecting to be done till may, 2014 maybe?, Is that normal and should i be concern?

also they are requesting to bring this.

Please bring the following documents:
Evidence that your sponsor and you have been cohabitated for at least one year
(Documents addressed to you and sponsor showing same residential address)

We dont have that, we have only live together for about month during my wife vacations.

Evidence of communication since your departure from Canada
It sounds like they may have miscategorized your application as a common-law sponsorship as opposed to a spousal sponsorship. I would e-mail them back and tell them that your understanding is that the requirement to "have been living together in a conjugal relationship for at least one year in an ongoing 12-month period" is only for common-law spouses (per " Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-who.asp) and ask them to confirm that your sponsor is your wife and that your application has been categorized correctly.

Similarly, did you live in Canada before? If not clarify that with them too.

It also sounds like they are looking for additional evidence of your relationship. So, review your application and consider sending them (or offering to send them) any additional proof you have. If you scan it, you can send it in the same e-mail (along with a summary of the evidence you have sent them already covering the whole 8 years ... I was reading some of your prior posts - did you send them the proof of communication for the whole 8 years)? If they are convinced with what they receive, they may no longer need the interview.

will do, thank you for your response, I did send a day of chat log for each year, and send note saying that we have more, cause it would been about 1 inch thick print out.

I don't think one day per year is enough. So, to the e-mail I would attach a lot more since it is can show the development of your relationship (minimum something for each month to show continuity and critical periods of your relationship). In fact, since you have already gone through and collated it and can 'print to pdf' and e-mail it to them, consider sending all of it and they can selectively skim. This is not the time to hold back. Also, send them phone bills, copies of letters, cards, etc.

Similarly, send them as many pictures of you can of you and your wife, especially those with friends or family in them.

Re financials - add a note highlighting some conversations where you discuss financial planning, how you will pay bills, future plans, etc. Also, if you have sent each other money, send copies of the checks or bank statements showing transfers. You want to show that your financial affairs are intertwined. Also, if either of you are beneficiaries of each others' life insurance policies, etc include those.

Also, consider sending letters from friends and family (if you can get them very quickly) in Spanish or English that talk about the development of your relationship. Explain why your wife hasn't moved to the US and any other things that may look weird to someone who doesn't know you at all.

Bottom line: while I think they made a mistake (given that they are treating you like a common law or conjugal couple vs. spouse and that they seem to think you lived in Canada), this shows they probably are also looking for additional proof of relationship that your relationship is genuine. Use the opportunity to clarify the first 2 points to send them information on the other points. Ask them if the interview request was indeed for you or if this was a mistake. Hope that either it was a mistake or the additional evidence convinces them and they withdraw the interview request.

Hello,
I applied via Mexico but I not Mexican, I am from Uruguay living in Belize so I sent my application directly to Canada and the they send it to Mexico.
I sent my application on June 4th 2012 and I just received my PR on January 3rd. 2014 I did not had interview, I was asked to just send my passport via FedEx or any of those along with a pre-paid electronic air waybill.
Interviews are not always required.
Good luck to all!

Hello Everyone,
I got an additional doc's request at the end of October (an FBI certificate and Schedule A update). I sent those in on January 16, so I'm wondering what can I expect next. Anyone have any idea how long of a wait to expect now? My ECAS status is "in process" and the last update was that my medical result were received. Also I'm a Guatemalan applying through Mexico, so I don't anticipate a PGR reuest. Am I near the end?

Hi,

Ok, so we send them the email asking about our category the interview, as well as more evidence, also i haven't recieved an email about them recieving my doj background check of the state of California which worries me. The tracking last scan was that a messenger had it in the page of correos mexico. I did send an email before i got the email about the interview asking if that document was recieved. is their a number we can call to verify if they got the document and if they made a mistake? or do we have to wait for an email respond?

Also, what should we do if we don't get a respond before the 7 days of the interview email, whether we confirm or not?

I think you should confirm , you dont want them to deny your application or something because you didnt show up . I think you should start getting everything ready for the interview just in case !

Hi,

I starting to plan me moving to mexico for interview, since i wont be able to come back to US i am trying to set everything we need. We haven't heard back from the embassy yet, and since i have less than 3 weeks to get ready for a permament move is hard.

So, we send them more evidence by email like OhCanadiana said, we haven't gotten a response, so were thinking about printing it out, but it turns out its about 14.500 pages of chat logs. We literally, as the factual meaning, talk to each other every day for last 9 years now, its alot to print out and move around. Is their anyway to bring this digitally to the interview? or do we have to print out that kind of monstrosity?

Hey! This worried mexican would like some help :S
So back in November I sent documents to the embassy from Canada to Mexico through Canada post letter post standard and I didnt get any tracking number or anything as they told me that the system wouldnt work in Mexico. I havent got any updates on whether the documents I sent arrived to the embassy in Mexico as my case has just been transferred there so they are in the process of figuring out if they got that and havent got an answer yet.

Yesterday, I sent another set of documents through Canada Post and right after I sent that it occurred to me that Canada Post must use Correos de Mexico on the mexican end and today Im worrying that the documents may never arrive, or may be intercepted or get to Mexico really late. Here in Canada they told me that for international mail it takes 4 to 7 business days to get there but as far as I know this is transferred to Correos de Mexico which seems to be really unreliable.

What is your experience and thoughts? I havent been able to sleep properly because Im afraid that the documents got lost or ended up in the wrong hands which would be concerning given the fact that there was a copy of my passport and fingerprints as well as pictures on this mails. Please help!

Honestly, my experience was bad, i send them my criminal record from the state of California through USPS through Correos Mexico, with tracking and extra to rush it a bit, it took about 20 days to get their, and still not sure if they got it or not since last tracking was "with messenger".
