Hi everybody!
first off, thanks to everyone sharing their experiences, its helped a lot,
as our process has been a loooong one, delayed by mail problems mostly..
im just wondering if anyone else sent their PPR via a courier rather than
going to DF and dropping it off in person.. it said it would take 1-2 weeks
but its been 2 weeks since we sent it, and it still isnt en route back here
according to the DHL tracking site..
im hoping everything is ok, as our medicals were done, and RPRF was
paid before they asked for the passport, and just last night the ECAS
was updated to "decision made" (and of course not telling me WHAT the
decision was).. hehe...
so if anyone has experience sending the passport could you let me know
what your timeline was?
thanks in advance, and good luck everyone!

Don't worry, I totally freaked out about this, too. We sent ours in the beginning of June, arriving June 6th in Mexico City. It was on its way back to Canada on June 29th. So, I think it is 2 weeks to put the visa in and 2 weeks to start sending it back.
I hope this helps!

Here is some information about landing when the applicant is already in Canada applying outland. When we got to the border, the border guards entering the US, made us flagpole, meaning they refused him entry and we were sent back to Canada. We had planned to go for a day trip to the states but they wouldn't let us do that, they explained that if for some reason Canada wouldn't let him land where would he go? The first border guard was going to let us enter but, his supervisor vetoed this decision.

He has a BC1/BC2 Visa card, but they explained that this card is only for the southern border, they do permit Mexican citizens to use it at the northern border if they are only visitors of Canada.

I know there was some discussion before about the type of US visa permanent residents of Canada from Mexico should get, the border guard explained it is the regular paper visa that goes in the passport and not the card.

Other than that, I never encountered friendlier border guards in my life, on both sides of the border!

Hey Guys,
Just wondering, does anyone know any immigration lawyers that deal with getting Canadian Visa's for mexicans that live in Mexico? I currently live in Puerto Vallarta, but I'm not picky on location if you know of any.

Thanks so much,
Shelly

Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad to hear you had a friendly experience. I was the on wondering about the US Visa for Mexican Citzens in Canada. So as long as the B1/B2 visa BCC is the paper kind, that is stuck in the passport like the Canadian TRV it is valid and can be uses to enter the US from both the Southern and Northern Border ?

@ itscoezy - if you have not yet found a lawyer referral, perhaps you might want to try contacting the immigration firm affiliated with this forum for suggestions.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks! I believe that would be the case, when I asked what it was called, he just said the paper visa that is stuck in the passport. If you are not a PR you can use the B1/B2 card at the northern border.

Hello Everyone!

Does anyone know where to go to get fingerprints done in Mexico so we can get an RCMP clearance? Specifically in Guadalajara? My wife is there and doesn't know where to go. She says the place where she did her State clearance doesn't do ink fingerprints, only a computer scan.

Also, in regards to the medical exam, is this to be done before or after the application is submitted? I think it should be done before so that all of our paperwork is in order and the VO doesn't have to request anything from us during the process. My wife, however, feels that since the doctor forwards the results to the processing office, they will arive before the application and be discarded because there is no related file.

As long as there is a valid client ID, they should hold this until the application arrives, correct? If we were to do the exam beforehand, do we list mexico city as the place to send it or missisauga? I ask because I do not want to add 5 extra weeks waiting for the papers to return to mexico via the mail system.
