Hello there!

I am asking for a friend...

Her husband and daughter had their medical examination last Tuesday in the Philippines. Everything went smoothly until the husband was requested a sputum test and needed to come back 3 days in a row next week.
Now, the question is, if incase the husband will have to medicate until he is clear, how will this affect their application?

Can the daughter who is now 18 years old be granted a visa first? or the visa be will be granted once the husband is clear?

We are just a little bit frustrated on another set back since this application is taking so long :(

Any input is appreciated.

Thank you!

It could be he has an inactive TB which most Filipinos have, the sputum test will confirm this if it is inactive there wont be any problem and depending how inactive it is he will have to report in Canada for an Xray within certain days upon arrival. My wife has the same situation. Not sure if it is active if he will take the medication in the Phillippines. If the sponsorship is for both of them and the father is the primary applicant the daughter wont get the visa first unless the sponsorship was filed seperately

Visa for the daughter won't be granted until the husband can pass the medical.

Hello!

Here is an update about this medical issue.

So the husband of my friend will have to medicate for 6 months because of the spot that was seen in his x-ray.

Now, my friend was thinking of changing the status of the husband to "Unaccompanied" at this time.... so that her daughter will be able to continue the process.

Is this a thing? is this possible?

Thanks again!

This won't change anything. The husband needs to complete treatment and pass the medical even if he is non accompanying. She and her daughter will not get the visa faster by changing him to non accompanying.
