Hello,
I've searched and can't seem to find the answer. I am getting all my stuff together for my Spouse visa application, but I am not 100% sure about when to get my medical done.

Do I book it now, get it done and then send everything off or do I send everything else off and get my medical done for them to forward the results to CIC?

Thanks

Get the medical done before you submit your application. Include proof the medical has been completed with your application.

I tried to get a medical exam before submitting my application (outland application, but I was in Canada at the time), but the DMP wouldn't let me because I did not have a UCI/application number. I had to wait for CIC to send my wife a letter telling us that they couldn't continue processing the application because it was incomplete (missing medical exam results). I took the letter to the DMP, and he finally gave me a medical exam. That probably delayed my application by a couple of months.

If you can find a DMP who is willing to give your spouse a medical exam before you get a UCI/application number, I'd recommend that. It should save you a month or two in processing time.

FYI, I am from a visa exempt country though last time I entered Canada once he knew I had a Canadian fiance, he asked if I was planning on immigrating and I said "yes, eventually" and they issued me a visitor's record which as a client ID number. So that is a thought and my advice to others

Wow, my husband had no problem getting his outland medical done inside Canada before applying, before having a UCI.

Yeah, make sure the DMP knows that you're trying to immigrate under the family class. The procedure is different for some of the other immigration types.
