MAY 2011 Application- Process and Timeline

I Sent My documents through DHL and my courier said that they have handed over my application to someone named Doug. Will CIC inform me about receipt of the package? If they inform me, then when I can expect that. My application reached 16 May 2011 (According to DHL).

Your Courier company will inform you - there is no confirmation of documents from CIO until you get your PER. If you are able to get information from your bank about fees being encashed (or fees charged to your credit card) you will have the first sign of progress, otherwise PER can take from 26-45 days or more. Goodluck everyone on your application. Post June 26 really moves faster than any other queue. Just prepare the necessary documents and you're good to got. Preparation of documents will be the biggest hurdle and everything will just be a breeze. Here's a site on Canada Immigration that might help. I find this site good since there are information on settling, the different provinces and other relative information that would help me before I land.

As you can see from the tracker in the "returned applications" tab, a problem charging CC is a reason to return the application to you. Wonder why the bank declined it, since you provided the security verification code in your form. I guess that's why many prefer to send a bank draft. Unfortunately they will return your app in the next couple of months and then you will be able to reapply.
I only wonder if you would have enough time to issue a bank draft a send it to them before they return your app. Maybe a senior would know better, but I doubt you could. :-X

The bank saw that it was an international transaction and the fraud dept called me and told me they declined it. Are u sure its going to take months to get back my application ( im in the US).

There is no certain time-frame for it, but usually it takes from 2-3 months from what I read from other members. Hope you get yours much sooner so that you can reapply immediately. Pity to have such a postpone over this... you should complain to your bank, not that it changes something now. How did they decline just like this? You must be so upset with them now...

Call the BANK or goto the department and tell them to get it authorized and done..Explain to them that they should call or do whatever to get this transaction done. OTHERWISE I guess June30th is over for you.
CIC is going to return application and as they wont ask for another payment methods or clarification.

D bank told me to tell them to retry (but of course that is impossible). Called d call center was told that my application would b returned immediately d CC did not go tru. Do u know how long it takes to send it out for mailing? Cos from Canada to US on a regular mail is like 2wks.

Hmmm read on this forum that it will take approx 2 months for the package to come back to you.
Strangely they send it back without tracking or anything via regular mail.

I am trying to avoid a similar thing..posted my application on 13th May, i contacted my credit card company before hand that I am expecting a foreign transaction on my card...i sent e-mails. called their customers etc cos i know for security reasons, it would be declined. even after all the reassurance, I got from the bank that even if the transaction is declined, they will call me to confirm before allowing it, I am very uneasy and will breath a sigh of relief only after the transaction has gone through.
So like Thalia said they would return the application if they are unable to charge the card....Either you send a new application now (not very feasible as they got your IELTS and all) or wait for them to return it to you by snail mail.

I agree with u. The bank said they saw Canada sydney and maybe d system taught of sydney Australia and Canada was strange combination. So they called me from d fraud department after d decline. I was told to call everyday to make the system accept the payment (ie if its been processed again). Waiting to get back my application.

ACT FAST!!! OK you will go to Wayne's blog (Capaccino) the link is on the bottom of his post. Look on his blog and go the the post HOW TO DEAL WITH NER. You will see that Canada Jimmy used the FAX number for reporting CHANGE OF ADDRESS. You can find that number on Wayne's post and on the CIC website under contact us. Sorry I don't have it handy. You could also do a search in the white box at the top right corner of the main forum page. Try Fax Address Change CIO or something like that. Mark the fax URGENT, include your name and birthdate, NOC number, anything that will identify your application. Tell them to try your card again! Make sure you inform your bank that you are expecting this charge on your account. Do not waste time. Others have had this problem and been able to deal with it. Some people have even had a message from CIO. I don't understand why they reject some and allow others a chance to correct it. Anyway, all the best. RUN!
