LMIA taking so long

I got a Job as a frontend developer in BC.
The company submitted an LMIA application since January 2024. up till today it still says queued for assessment.
is this normal?

It can take weeks and months. Standard processing is probably around 3 months. Has employer followed up with EDSC? Are you in Canada and still need to apply for a closed work permit?

I am not yet in Canada. Employer has tried to contact them by emails but no reply

through phone calls but wait times are hectic

Make sure you have all documentation (ECA, Language, reference letters) ready to go. If LMIA is approved, it will be another 3-5 months for approval.
