Were just about to send our application in. We have cards that we have sent each other ect as proof of our relationship is it best to send the originals or will photocopies work. If we sent the originals would we get the back?

I think copies will do. Just explain also to them why you've send copies instead of the originals. I don't think they will send anything back so if you don't want to lose things that means a lot to you, just send copies.

We sent originals...but only samples...and we include a note stating that we want our originals returned...IMO they actually don't have the right to keep them as they are not the governments property...

There's no guarantee you will get any of your evidence back. Some visa offices tend to return all evidence - while others such as Buffalo typically return none. My husband and I received zero evidence back from our file.

Don't send originals for anything you wouldn't want to lose.

I sent colour photo copies of the inside and outside of all the cards I had because I didn't want to take the chance of not getting them back

just send the photocopy and reprint some picstures because in my case they didn't return my documents or any pictures..

Sure they do. It's THEIR program that you are applying to and they make the rules. That's why it says on the checklist to only send originals if requested because they might not be returned.
