June 2014 - CEC applications

I’ve been a silent reader for a few weeks. I found this forum both a curse and a blessing. A curse, because it made me realise how many more applications still hasn’t been processed, and a blessing because I know I’m not alone.

My timeline is as follows:

Application received: 23 June
AOR: 8 August
Medicals requested: 13 February
Medicals submitted: 2 March

I have a question which I hope one of you will be able to help me with.

According to the information I found on May’s forum, the steps for those applying for CEC from outside Canada and being from a visa-exempt country are different.

Apparently those applicants do not receive PPR, but get the COPR in the mail instead. Could anyone confirm that? If that’s correct, what should we expect to see on our online status? Are there any other differences I should be aware of?

Hi all,
One of my friends who applied in June got his RPRF request.

Application sent: June 23rd 2014
Application received: July 18th 2014
Medicals: Done
RPRF: 4th June 2015

Be patient !!

Very happy to hear that someone from June period got RPRF. But something seems to be fishy. How come it took so many days to reach the application (sent on 23rd and received on July 18th). If his/her application really reached on July 18th then no surprise receiving the RPRF.

COPR is the confirmation document that you you will receive from the immigration Dept, it proves that you through the Permanent resident process. Now you will have to present that document along with your passport at the Canadian Border Services Agency(Canadian Border)...to complete the landing.

As far as PR process is concerned, You don't have to send your passport, if you're from a visa exempt country. Once you receive your COPR, directly plan for landing. where as for non visa exempt county, you will get a PPR request and need to send your passport for visa before going for landing (one extra step).

I don't think any difference in on-line status. I believe, this will be same for every one applied for PR.

Find your MP's email id online and you can email him explaining your situation. My friend gave me below format

Hi Guys,

I have received my GCMS notes, it contains only the documents and forms that I had sent...but doesn't contain any remarks or progress status as others have posted.
GCMS notes doesn't contain the additional documents that I had sent
Did I do something wrong while ordering the notes? Thanks in Advance....

Alright guys, so I got my GCMS notes today. Everything looks fine, under eligibility, C.A wrote recommend passed, just waiting for V.O to review. Under the notes section, it says "appears to meet requirements". Unfortunately, no V.O has looked at my case yet.
