Hi Citizenship friends,

I have applied on 22nd April 2014 for my citizenship. I did my test on 19th February 2015 @ Vancouver local office. They update my e-cas after I finish my test.

Now waiting for a big day? Oath taking.........Any idea........Please....

Thanks
Too early for February test takers for Vancouver... They clearly mentioned 3-5 before the test, although that's more of a ballpark estimate... 1.5 months from test to receiving the oath letter seems to be a minimum average...

Got the Voter Registration Form in my mailbox yesterday. Funny how NER works. Probably CIC-Sydney has given NER the info due to the fact that the corresponding NER box on the citizenship application form was ticked... These guys are quite swift now, aren't they... Furthermore...: http://www.elections.ca/fast#a2.

Hello,

I got the Voter Registration form in my mailbox yesterday too. You understood it correctly if applicants give their consent to pass their details to NER, CIC-Sydney will pass those on.

There is a deadline for the Voter Registration Form if "you are a citizen" or not. Sadly, I had to tick that off that I am not a Canadian citizen yet, so I will have to register it online again when the federal election occurs in the future.

I was wondering if any applicants did not tick off the corresponding NER box on their citizenship application forms. I have talked with quite a few people who all ticked that boxes off on their citizenship applications.

Some did not check the box -- like a colleague of mine (or according to her at least).

Anyways, I noticed we've done the test on Feb 10th and almost share the timeline. Good luck -- is your office Vancouver?

I did oath on March 4th. It was a 2 hours ceremony and was quite simple and interesting.
I guess I have to say goodbye to this forum after 6 years and 2 months .
Compare to getting PR this time CIC was really fast. I came to Canada with work permit. All the fears are over and I think I can live in rest if other problems like loosing jobs, getting laid off and so on and blab blab blab let me :)

Good luck for the rest of the people in this forum if there is still anybody left.

Hi everyone,

I have finally received the oath ceremony letter! I will be in the oath ceremony on March 26 :)

Btw, I was wondering how women wear their outfits in the oath ceremony during winter. Did they wear business suit (the shirt and skirt-- not sure if skirt needs to be at least knees level?) or just casual business (eg. knit dress with tights and boots or ?)?

For the oath ceremony, one of the documents that I need to bring is all the originals that were used for the citizenship application, do the officials need to see that again? Do they check all the originals again?

Your advice is highly appreciated.

What great news! Sincerely happy for your and congratulations! I'm a man, but coming from old Europe, I'd advise wearing elegantly and appropriately, as if for a special ceremonial event. Business sounds good -- can't err with that.

Congrats,
You just need the oath letter, your PR CAR, one photo ID like driving license and some offices will ask for the landing document too. It doesn't hurt if you take it with yourself.
Make sure to sign the third page of the oath letter and give permission for taking photo.

For dress they say business attire but I saw a couple of ladies by skirt above the knee!
Doesn't really need to be business business. Just as simple as we wear on daily bases to go the office. I put my noal dress on and went to the office after oath.

Good luck
