congrats! If you happened to have asked for a passport, could you post here when you get it or what the timeline they gave you is?

I still havent done my citizenship test and I will have to leave the country for a week in May, i m getting a bit worried about what would happen if i get the certificate just before (like April). Thanks!
I'm in the same boat. Haven't got the citizenship test invite yet. Planning to return to Thailand to visit family in May and June (to introduce my two children that have not met my parents yet as a result of COVID) but haven't booked flights yet because of the unknown timing of citizenship...

Congratulations. Was there any option to pick up citizenship certificate yourself from the local processing office?

Some people who applied in the end of April have already completed their oath Ceremonies. Even if we give benefit of doubt and think that every application is different so processing time varies.. but once all the fields are completed and applicants are only waiting for oath; shouldn't it be first in first out at that point!? How unfair is this to make some wait for months and invite others for oath/even tests rightaway! At this point i don't even know what to say. This feels like a never ending wait..

Ya, it's unfortunate. At least you already have decision made a month ago?! Hopefully you'll get your oath scheduled in the next month or two. I think a big part relies on the city that you are being processed by. You would hope that they would at least do first in first out for scheduling oaths within the same city... We still haven't even had citizenship test invite so we're a lot further behind in the process and still a lot more hoops to jump through...

Hi all,

How long does it take for the status of the ceremony to change from in progress to complete after taking an oath? Is it normal to take a week or more for that to change?

Depends where you are. In Ottawa there are still people that did oath in NOVEMBER 2021, that still haven't had their certificate printed or marked as "complete" (even when urgent processing requested with proof of flight). So, it really depends on the office. A week or longer is normal for some offices.

Thanks. So the status will be complete only after they print the certificate and not when they receive the signed oath form right?
