Depends on your jursdiction. Toronto people are waiting weeks for their printed SC to go from consulate to BLS. Vancouver, I got mine 3 days after it was printed. 1 day to go from consulate to BLS, one day for BLS to ship it out using Purolator, and got delivered the next day.

I am guessing if BLS doesn't screw up then end of next week delivery might be possible :)

The worse part is that bls staff here are most likely Canadian citizens. So they are screwing over their fellow Canadian citizens of Indian origin :(

From the little research I have done, no need to surrender anything. Alex is correct, voter card is no longer valid as you are no longer a citizen of India. Trying to use it would be illegal. You can probably shred it to avoid any misuse. You can continue using PAN card if u need to file taxes...

Yes that's correct and their service level was incredible. Respectful agents, fast processing, quite hassle free process. BLS on other hand is completely opposite. Bad/not helpful/rude agents, liars, no standardized processing and what not.. smh

Assuming u r already 20+, you don't need to renew the OCI booklet until u turn 50 :)

I had to renew my Indian passport while I was back in India in 2020. And the process is so simplified. Tatkal passport was so easy to get. Getting services in India is improving day by day so this BLS level service is disgusting even compared to the current Indian standards :(

No need to be sorry for venting. You paid for a service that you aren't getting so anyone would be frustrated. Same experience with Purolator for me. They never call cell phone# but luckily the pickup is very close to my place so I can walk there to pick it up.

This just seems so unnecessary. I guess they want to take their own sweet time mailing out applications so they will keep it in a different queue until it has been more than 1 month
