My daughter and fiancé have lived over a year together in Tanzania, she is Canadian, he is from Zanzibar. They have been in a relationship for close to 2 years. They did apply for a visitor visa but he was denied. There were a few things that were not submitted that may make a difference so it may be an option to reapply. It was suggested that she apply to sponsor him which is another option. The question is she has been living in Tanzania under a volunteer visa as that is what she has been doing for the last year and where she was volunteering paid her living expenses. Does this mean she can apply to Canada as an Outland sponsorship for him? Or because she is on a volunteer visa would it be considered Inland even though she is living overseas?? They plan on staying in Zanzibar until they can both come back to Canada. Thanks!
